Lol, I honestly don't imagine Megatron would even be grossed out, since aversion to blood is probably sort of specific to creatures who have blood. It's no weirder than anything else squishy organics do. I just cannot picture him caring at all.

I can kinda see robot dudes being... kinda aversive, if only for 'you have... kinda sticky liquid... inside your body? Just... running around?'

Well, the robots ALSO have that. They just call theirs energon, and it serves as their primary food source too.

Genuine question, because I know pretty much nothing about the Giant Robuts: could a Giant Robut like, open up their arm and drink their own Energon for sustenance?

Probably not, because it wouldn't actually do anything to restore those energon stores. It's sort of iffy and not really explored in the comic, but given that our band of misfit scavengers (named, aptly, the Scavangers) goes around siphoning corpses on ancient battlefields, it's probably pretty likely that you can't siphon yourself for the same reason why you couldn't make infinite chocolate by cutting it just right.

I have honestly never seen a single "imagine [scenario involving canon character and coughyourselfcough]" post that was even remotely in character. My favorite was a Hellsing one about imagining how the Doctor would fuss over you if you were depressed and he'd make sure you got therapy and so on. The character of the Doctor is a Nazi scientist.

The "imagine human s/o with their robot counterpart" is just especially out there because a) the sheer scale of these things, rough math set most of the MTMTE cast at somewhere between 20 feet and 60 feet tall, b) this is a goddamn alien spaceship with fully alien food (radioactive!), scales (these hallways are literal miles long), and potential hazards (for one: is there even oxygen on this ship? they don't need it).

So when I see "how would Megatron help his human s/o with their dysphoria!!!!" all I can think is "well, hopefully not by stepping on them by accident, which seems depressingly likely all things considered."

Yeah, you'd just be eating food already in your system. Really it'd be a net loss, you'd open up your arm and pull out X amount of energon, then best case scenario eat that and leave yourself at exactly the same level as before, except not, because you'd probably waste a little getting it out in the first place. In other words, it'd be like removing some of your own blood to give yourself a blood transfusion immediately afterwards.

goofy posts that get every salient detail wrong are the bane of my existence

(because if I actually go 'no their personalities skillsets histories and roles in the story are entirely different and also there are dc characters who say fuck' then I'm the no fun robot and also dragged into the dc vs marvel thing when really I'm just a pedant)

And also I'm pretty sure that they're using the marvel movies versions but idk where in the DC they're getting that robin and Batman because robin hasn't properly shown up in anything released in theaters except for Lego Batman, and if that were the case then those two at least have "I'm you with a competent superheroine treated as an equal"/"I'm you with good interpersonal relationships"/"I'm you but with an actually memorable soundtrack" to work with.

(I'm still disappointed that the orchestral spider man theme song from the opening doesn't get played in the movie proper IT WAS GREAT)

Has this person ever seen a single work of fiction involving Batman. Or Tony Stark.

(Also there is a direct Batman analogue over at Marvel. Moon Knight.)

Yes! They've been copying off each other for AGES. Plus of course the same people have worked at both.

Actually come to think of it there's a closer Iron Man analogue in the batfamily right now too.

Like, all Batsy and Tony have in common are "no-powers superhero with a 'billionaire playboy' thing going on who fights crime with a) being smart and b) being extremely rich, and has a lot of emotional problems." Their skills, methods of operation, fighting styles, demeanors, areas of expertise, forms of screwed-up-ness, roles on the team, imagery, and narrative themes are all different in pretty much every particular. A Batman story and an Iron Man story look absolutely nothing alike.

A single Robin story and a single Spider-Man story could potentially look a little similar for some values of Robin, but when you look at them in aggregate they're still very different because Robin is operating within Batman's radius (which sets the expectations a little more Batman-ward even if Robin is operating independently), and a lot of Spidey's hook is that he has to deal with a bunch of ordinary life problems in between superheroing. None of the Robins have ever had to worry that they might not make their rent this month because they missed work too many times due to supervillain attacks. ...And, well, we won't even talk about "what if the value of 'Robin' is 'Damian.'"

So, basically, he exists, and is neat, but is not terribly likely to get a solo book or plotlines of his own? Dangit.

    Thanks for the explanation, though!
