Caps for emphasis often just make my brain switch into homestuck character intro mode. And whenever I want to do italics often it comes out /in forward slashes/. Not fun for writing things in the current day and age but they feel more italic than actual italics do to me.
YOI Badfic Friend found what was allegedly a Harry Potter AU but was in fact super obviously the author dusting off an old Drarry fic and word-replacing the names. Because, you know, those two ships are totally interchangeable. #3 giveaway: Yuuri and Victor are inexplicably Gryffindor-Slytherin rivals who hate each other for some reason. #2 giveaway: Victor talks about how he tried to make friends with Yuuri while shopping before school started. #1 giveaway: "cauldTakeshi"
Idk if this counts, but I just saw a sollavellan fic with a Lavellan named the same thing as mine. Sollavellan is my NOTP. seeing idrilla's name vaguely connected to boinking the bad egg is just Wrong
Something I find absolutely hilarious: When writers use words that they clearly do not actually know the meaning of. Por ejemplo: Bruce Wayne is…VOTING RIGHTS MAN! (Of course, Voting Rights Man is actually a superhero we desperately need in the US, but unfortunately that's not what the fic was about…)
If you've read Unpretty's Batman fic, though, that totally sounds like a thing her Bruce Wayne would do.
Yeah, "banned from Wal-Mart for giving all the employees better jobs" Bruce Wayne would totally set up massive "WE WILL HELP YOU REGISTER AND VOTE BY MAIL" operations in neighborhoods that crooked politicians are trying to disenfranchise, just because he could.
Yeah, he's always struck me as the sort of Batman who is thrilled to find social problems he can solve just by spending a lot of money, rather than by spending a lot of money and then punching a clown. (He'll even try solving social problems when it doesn't cost money, though he's bad at that. "AH YES TIM THE BOY, YOUR VERY MANLY SON. HE IS UPSTAIRS BEING A FINE YOUNG GENTLEMAN WHY DO YOU ASK?")
I wish making characters inexplicably furry in fics was an actual Thing tbh. Modern Kylux AU and also they're furries. Dragon Age Prequel Trilogy AU and also they're furries.
