general drinking advice is to drink a cup of water for every drink. but for mixed drinks that are, say, 85% juice and 15% alcohol, does that hold true? or is the juice enough of a fluid to replace the fluids lost from the alcohol? or should you drink an additional cup of water?

similar question for iced coffee (bc coffee is a diuretic) thats about 40% milk and 20% ice, do you need to drink fluid replacement drinks for that or are the mixers enough?

Re: alcohol, you should still drink the water, because it's still dehydrating and the juice isn't enough or a replacement. Mixed drinks are similar to beer in that respect - there's more water content than alcohol in both of them, but alcohol is dehydrating enough you need more fluids.

Re: coffee, caffeine generally isn't enough of a diuretic anyway to require someone to drink 1:1 cups of coffee to glasses or water, seeing as regular coffee contains plenty of water. If you were drinking plain espresso, maybe, but as most iced coffee drinks are espresso with milk and ice, you're good.

I absolutely recommend drinking a cup of water for every mixed drink. Plus a lot of them are way more alcohol than that unless you're mixing them yourself. Like, one of the bare handful of times in my life I've been hungover was after I was at my uncle's 60th birthday party that had an open bar and I was drinking vodka and cranberries all night. My dad and my uncle joked afterward that I probably had a drink with every one of the 120 or so other attendees (I normally don't go that hard, but my dad and my uncle were both there to watch my back), and my dad made me drink at least three bottles of water at the end of the night, so I probably had a total of five bottles of water in addition to the juice, and I still felt like I was going to die the next morning.

yeah when you're drinking it's always better to err on the side of too much water. my friends used to tease me at college parties for hanging out in the kitchen and double-fisting all my drinks with a concurrent glass of water, but it honestly helps a ton.

So does anyone get that thing that when you listen to music through earbuds for too long your ears get kinda sore and feel like they're leaking? (idk that's just what it feels like) Does anyone have a solution that isn't listen through speakers or stop listening?

Are over-the-ear headphones OK? (If they need to be portable, there's ones that are like, clip-on).

I know that feel, im not sure why it happens but you might need to go down a size in earbuds? I stopped having that happen often when i changed sizes. You may also be pushing them in too deep, which i understand because i definitely do for max drown outage of surrounding noise, and ive found you can get the same affect by using cheap over ears over your earbuds shoved in a normal amount. Lastly, have you tried wearing them like this

Cause ive noticed with some headphones this helps a lot with sound quality and less soreness, although it takes getting used to because the wire wants to pop out all the time

does anyone have advice for hair styles for long haired masc presenting people? most places i look seem to be variants on 'a hundred and fifty one photos of man buns' with no good descriptions or videos or pictures of the 'how to' bit

Here's a viking braid style - the youtuber who does this also does some other men's styles for long hair, mostly TV inspired, I think.

I actually wore this style to officiate a wedding, it's good shit and once you get it down takes less than ten minutes.

For man buns, it depends on hair length, but basically: gather hair in high ponytail. Put a hair tie around it and pull all the hair through. Then twist the hair tie and start pulling the hair through again, but stop halfway. Loop the hair tie around that section however many more times to secure it.

When an apartment says no pets, is that referring to "space demanding/ allergy triggering/can do property damage" more general pets like cats and dogs or do fish and reptiles fall under the same category

It can depend. I was allowed a hamster when there was a nominal no pets rule, but I had to specifically request it and the letting agent had to run it past the landlord. Another place I looked at sounded like they had a much more unbendable restriction.

In my experience - they mean no pets of any kinds. They will even try to exclude service animals.

I see, to be fair a hamster is more likely to do property damage and be a trigger for allergy than fish tho, I feel like they'd fall a bit in the middle?

landlords are looking at "will it cost moneys to fix in the worst case?" - so nope, there is no pet that they want
