It's been over ten years since I had to hack anything, which in IT years is at least two centuries, and Riki and Nick could have used your help that night. Not to mention the part where we really miss you and are worried sick when the extradimensional feeds go down."

The smolbots amuse her. But she's still glad her own kits will be a more manageable size, especially since she can't put them in eggs.

 

We're on our way! Travel's just kinda messy out here even with the Behemoth and we'd like to have a shifter who knows what they're doing to make the rift so we don't end up in Mexico again. Mexico was bad times.

I think the crew are going to stay, so they can keep breaking people out of Lone Star since the rats like them. But I might be bringing Lyra across, since you've got people who can probably help her with the word thing.

Honestly most of what I remember about him is bees.

They're very aggressive, and if we let them out they'd be a threat to local pollinators; Akallabeth found some of them in Laurelen, and having as many as she can round up caught and sent to us--but if they won't be caught, she's got to kill them, so they don't kill all the local bees, because we really need honey that doesn't make people insane."

Valiska makes a face. "Bet Almeida blames us for that one, too, even though he brought them to Pennarion a long time before he joined our pride, and if he'd joined us first it wouldn't have happened. There are natural rifts on Pennarion up in the arctic and antarctic circles, among other places. This planet's been dealing with invasive species as long as it's existed; shit, every single sapient inhabitant is at least 50% invasive species by now! Some fairly well-behaved rosebushes and a few wild thylacines are not going to kill the planet."

 

[She chirr-click-laughs again, a wholly insectoid and entirely affectionate sound that probably wouldn't come out of her anywhere else unless she was very very drunk.]

 

It is matesprites. It's our relationship, and we can define it however we want. And it fits the definition, of course, but... seriously, please don't act as though our relationship is yours to label.

And Dali wants to stay out of the quadrant system entirely, I think. I mean, yeah, sure, she likes us, but she was pretty clear on it not being romantic. So, no... I don't think she'd like being described as "sort of his kismesis." Or mine, for that matter.

 

Valiska gives Norm a sidewise look. "Hence, the statement that 'I think' and 'sort of'? Feel free to correct me on anything nicely and I'll thank you for the information, but keep in mind, I'm very definitively not saying that I know or understand what's going on between you four." She sighs. "I kind of have a lot of things on my mind right now that aren't 'what people I know are together are calling it'. Almeida was yelling at me this afternoon about there being a thylacine in with her chickens having a snack. I told her it wasn't one of ours, because ours are all chipped and we know where they are, but if she'd send it to us we'd take it, and she threatened to spay it, and then I told her what the pride is named and she decided not to fuck with me."
