Yeah, one problem with including a fandom in the setting design is that then the people who know the fandom want to make in-jokes and references. That can snowball quickly into leaving some of the players unsure what the heck is going on, while the ones who know the reference seem to be hiveminding.
Yeah, I just really like superheroes. Not really an idea, yet. I mean sometimes I just like to write about supers interacting in a casual environment, usually a bar, talking about their adventures, gossiping, etc. I guess what I kind of have in mind is that people with superpowers aren't all that rare, but still kind of a minority, so sometimes they have a neutral zone where it doesn't matter if you're a hero or a villain or just someone with powers who's just trying to live a regular life, you get together to have that support group where you're not different.
I am totally willing to share some of the ideas for my personal superverse as a sandbox, since it's not terribly established. For example, the bar a lot of supers meet at is called Dive, and there is a giant gaping hole in the middle of the dance floor.
That sounds like Common Grounds. And twice as many Common Grounds issues would make the world a better place, but that's not happening, so you should totally share your idea, but you should also read CG because you'd love it.
Superpowers sounds fun, and also a lot like a thing I'm currently discussing with irl friends, so heck yes!
Trying to put down some bullet points for organizing Super RP, I want it to be a sandbox everyone can play in, but also cohesive.
Would it be ok to just create a thread for the kintsugi island rp and let people drop in and introduce their characters in the thread? If it's not going to be closed to new people joining in then we don't need an intro thread, do we?
