there's a guy who works at the Starbucks near me and I'm like half convinced he is IRL John Egbert

 

my ex-boyfriend looked remarkably like an irl john egbert. and also his name was actually john. and homestuck was one of the first things we bonded over before we got together

the similarities ended in appearance tho; personality wise he was closer to rose ;P

 

this guy's name is John and he has square glasses and black hair with a very similar style to John Egbert's
and he's actually sorta similar personality-wise too?

literally the only reason I got into Homestuck is because people kept talking to me about it and being like "you should read it!" and finally I read it
and that was in 2013ish
what happened to us....

 

all the genuinely happy homestuck kiddieteens grew up into jaded adults who are afraid to like things without 6 layers of self deprecating irony

 

But didn't Dave and Dirk show us it's okay to legit like things and you don't have to pretend?

also like.....I agree with Jack there, no one person playing a game can "ruin" a community?? what the hell. I've been really excited to watch Jack's playthrough, I love how invested he gets in games, who cares if he's read Homestuck or not, it's not like you NEED to have that background to play Hiveswap, and just....ugh.

jack's playthrough is really good! i'm a HUGE homestuck sperg and his playthrough has been nothing but fun. you can totally tell how much he likes the game and how much fun he's having (and how concerned he is about upsetting the fans who are already mad he's just PLAYING it, let alone playing it "wrong" >:T)

 

normally i'm not a huge fan of jack (i was a few years back) as he's a bit loud for my tastes. but he's clearly enjoying it
