There is a person on this Catfish episode I'm watching who's called BROGAN.

A young blond girl is named BROGAN. Like...a man's shoe.

Hopefully she's the catfish and it's not her real name?

Incidentally: Brogan was the catfish. Her real name was Tia. This would be comforting until you consider that Tia, who thinks Brogan is a good name for a cute girl, will probably have kids someday.

Yeah. I think it would be less heinous for a boy than a girl but ... it's still super heinous.

Candida is a really old name, so that one gets a pass--it's hundreds of years old, although it does have Unfortunate Associations due to the recent spread of medical information to lay people. But not everything that sounds cute or pretty would make a good name. I would not want to be named after shoes.
