They generally don't show true mean spirit, in my experience, unless they think the thing the person is doing is actively hurting someone. There's times when dudes are talking about spooging in random girls they don't know's slippers and shit like that, and that's the only time they're truly outraged from what I remember.

it does take a bit of a thick skin for some episodes (I personally haven't listened to the asexuals ep at all, though i've heard it's fine from friends), but I'm very fine with laughing at my own ridiculousness so i've never had a problem

I've also barely listened to episodes earlier than 30 because the sound quality contrast bites my ears a bit after hearing later episodes, but I should get to those

edit: it's also worth noting that they will pick the very bottom of the barrel on communities that can be good, like their reddit episodes are all truly abhorrent people in the edges of reddit, not the center of the site normal maybe weird people

 

Just a warning for new people though, the episodes Snoot by the Foot and Why Crush a Bug When You Can Ruin It Emotionally both made me gag and feel queasy. Snoot by the Foot especially. tread carefully, they are the grossest fetish things i've ever seen

 

i've only listened to 7 episodes so far + outtakes, and what they're doing is just reading the worst-written stuff they can find. like, the fetish is okay on its own, or whatever, but the way this specific person wrote this specific thing is incomprehensible, full of typos, and generally awful.

just listened to the PUA one, for example, and they are pretty much cracking the usual jokes about how no person would ever want to get talked to the way a PUA approaches talking to women

 

i'm listening sequentially from the beginning and i've just hit the otherkin episode

i'm also at the point in my evening where i usually eat a dinner-like meal

wish me luck in not spraying food everywhere from laughing too hard

 

I've only listened to half the old otherkin episode; I really should finish it

i think the most amusing thing is how confused the therians are by the idea of fictionkin. bless like 4 years ago otherkin, they were a different breed

I followed so many people who didn't start out otherkin and now they're polykin and it's so frustrating and terrible because so many of them seemed cool and now it's just a giant messssss of the worst tumblr variety

i have seen people get on long, involved converstations about whether or not it's ok to block someone just because they're kin with an abusive character. seriously. it's so crazy and it drives me up the wall

He sulks in jealousy for like five books, then attempts to kill Squirrelflight's kits in revenge during a fire, at which time Squirrelflight reveals they're not her kits. Ashfur threatens to reveal that to all the clans to get revenge on Squirrelflight rejecting him, but he gets ded before he can do that. Basically he is Cat Nice Guy

the last one i listened to was the MRA one and it was just so very very Nice listening to a bunch of guys call out other dudes on their terrible awful misogyny, and the running joke of having to teach Portaxx what a toilet was was A+
