Control Panel -> Device Manager I got to, Sound is no longer there, which is the problem.

 

Can you System Restore?

 

I don't have a previous restore point, apparently, so no.

 

Try "Scan for Hardware Changes" in Device Manager? See if it comes up in "Add a Device"? If you know the specific make/model of your sound system, you could try googling for the driver to download and install manually? I dunno, I got nothing. :::///

 

In Device Manager, under the View menu, is "Show hidden devices" checked?

 

Okay, found it, and it says "not connected to the computer (Code 45)". The computer in question is a laptop and doesn't have separate speakers, so I don't know how to reconnect them.

 

Hmm, that's weird. Afaik it could still be a driver issue rather than a hardware problem. Have you tried running the Windows troubleshooter, and has the laptop been restarted since the problem began?

My toilet seat's snapped through as well and my dryer is fucking up GODDAMMIT WHY IS EVERYTHING IN MY HOUSE FUCKING BROKEN?

I ran the troubleshooter and it says it didn't find anything, and yes, I've rebooted the machine twice.

 

I thought i was going to get through grading these labs without seeing any (obvious) academic dishonesty but noooooope. Nooooooooooooope.

 

It’s 12 am and my dad just made me send an email to the landlord about the heat running. I wish he would just fuck off. The more time I have to spend around him the more he fucking annoys me

 

My friends keep getting sick and it's upsetting me because they all live in other time zones and there's nothing I can do to help them feel better other than what we always do when we hang out on skype; i.e. show them funny pictures and make jokes.

 

I got grease on my new pants I’ve literally never worn before since I bought them. I hate this. I must be punished for my sins.

 

@tickingnectarine, I'm really sorry about your pants. My friend says dishwashing liquid soap. Rub it in real good and rinse it off.

 

Sadly I don’t have time, I’m doing an antique show today and I have to leave in 5 minutes. I’ll try it tonight.

 

Grease shouldn't be too time sensitive, so it should be okay. Hope the antique show goes well.

Managed to remove the broken toilet seat but one of the bolts is still in the toilet back, having rusted to the butterfly nut, and I can't put the new one on until I remove that. I don't have any grease or a hacksaw, so it looks like I'm asking for a lift to the hardware store tomorrow. Computer audio is still broken.

 

Think I just got banned from Disqus for telling someone there they were a dipshit - I can't log in to comment now. Shame, there were so many other people on that thread I wanted to call dipshits.
