CALIFORNIA WEATHER THREAD (most important thread on kintsugi)

THIS, this is EXACTLY how it's been here too and is also pretty much the most apt description of humid heat I've ever heard.

I CANNOT SAY I AM A FAN OF THIS WEATHER and that's putting it wayyy too politely.

 

we were under a tornado advisory where I am and like. I DID NOT GET MOVED FROM NORTHWEST OHIO TO HAVE TO DEAL WITH TORNADOES WAY THE FUCK OUT HERE. Like I went outside to go to a doctor's appt and it was like being 12 all over again. No thx. My hair is a wreck, and LA isn't much better esp since the husband's apartment's AC has decided that working is for the birds.

 

I forgot how much my allergies act up during this kind of weather... my throat is full of mucus and im nauseous and lethargic all over... i want to watch voltron but i dont have enough spoons to even do that...

 

at least you brought the big fan

 

My house doesn't have AC and never has, so those big fans are like...lifesavers here. As is the ceiling fan.

 

59 Farenheit in San Ramon today. ( 15 Celcius, which makes more sense to my brain. )

Legit wondered if I was gonna need an umbrella when I walked outside this morning because it felt like one of those days.

 

It's going to be 115°F in Livermore you guys. I have to go there this weekend to celebrate the birthday of my partner's sister who neither of us like. Send help (and ice cream).

@furrylatula Tip I learned while in Israel this summer. Freeze like 2 LARGE bottles of water and take them with you. They will melt and you will have cold water instead of tea sans tea leaves.

Sorry I love summer thunderstorms and they are the one thing I miss about weather back east where I came from so the thunderstorms from the last few days have been awesome for me except they also make me sad because i know they come from hurricanes.

its soo fucking hazy rn, there are ashes blowing everywhere.

Any peeps in wine country? Are you guys okay and/or safe? My town is literally filled with ppl from napa and sonoma due to the blaze there.

 

I am in San Francisco except that right now I am in Oakland where I work. I would be fine if I weren't asthmatic. These are the days when I wish I had my own nebulizer because inhalers are a pain in the ass when you need them more than infrequently. But this also happens every year, it's just coming from a different direction. As always my heart goes out to the people affected. But mostly I am preoccupied with staying oxygenated.

I remind myself a lot that fire season is shorter than pollen and mould and cold seasons elsewhere.

 

My family's ok thankfully. I hear little but about how it looks like the world's ending like in a movie or some shit though.

Fire season sucks. Damn fire benders trying to invade california...
