speaking of things that are expensive in the frozen north: peaches or nectarines? Nectarines all the way for me
peaches are Best Fruit (ideally freestone and easy to peel). the smell of fresh peaches in the vicinity is a wonderful smell I have to reluctantly concede that nectarines are superior in the not-having-fuzz department tho
Millions of peaches, peaches for me tbh just because I can't find pre-prepped nectarines and both have Bad skins
I've discovered that I like peach tea and I don't know if there's a nectarine equivalent, so I tentatively have to say 'peaches'.
Peaches! Peaches are much better for baking with and I actually like touching the fuzzy skin and am neutral on eating it.
Nectarines, ideally so hard that you can bite into them like apples. the fuzz on peaches is very unpleasant and only acceptable on the flat ones because those i can chop small enough not to have the fuzz on my lips.
haha! I prefer nectarines, personally :b i've never met a peach dish where a nectarine didn't perform equally as well and No Fuzz
I will say nectarines smell lovely on the tree. I haven't been close enough to a peach tree to compare :P
Apparently nectarines and peaches are identical, but nectarines have a mutation in the fuzz gene that makes them less fuzzy
I guess mostly it's because I don't have a sensory issue with peach fuzz. tbh it kind of feels like a nice soft friend of a fruit. (kiwi fruit fuzz is terrible though.)
