Hey, is Comixology just bugging out on me, or does it say that Lost Light 11 and 12 are coming out on November 29th? Because that would be weird but also I would welcome this strange gift if it were true and not some weird site error

 

I have no idea about comixology but I would also like double issue

 

Issue 13 still has a release date of December 27th, so it’s not every issue on Comixology...

Spoiler: ROD SQUAD TIME (as of LL)

Rodimus
Class: Tactician (maybe warrior? But Bay Roddy's a warrior, kinda wanna spread 'em out.)
Signature Ability: Hot Rod: Rodimus's melee attacks have a low chance to inflict Burn status on enemies, percentage depending on ability rank.
Abilities:

• Crit Rate Buff
• Evade

Special Attacks:I honestly don't know what to do for the first two but cmon we gotta use the big cinematic one to set Roddy on fire. Heavy melee damage, 100% chance to inflict Burn (duration increasing with rank up).
Synergies:

• Keep It Together (Outgoing): Say what you want about Roddy's commanding skills, at least he's on the front line with his 'subordinates'. Members of the Rod Squad in the party get a low health "morale" bonus.
• Command Team (Outgoing): IDW/G1 Drift and Ultra Magnus get increased crit chance when they actually bother to fucking communicate.
• Daddy Issues Falling Short (Incoming): With G1 Optimus Prime or Ultra Magnus (or Megatron, should he ever be released) in the party, Rodimus gets increased attack rating. Gotta impress the dads.

Drift
Tbh I'd be down if Bayverse Drift just...... got reskinned and got some kind of synergy bonus with Ratchet. They did a pretty good job with Drift.

Brainstorm
Class: Tech. Oh my god boy is such a techie. Probably on the lighter end of handling for that class. A surprisingly zippy tech. Him Run
Signature Ability: How Does That Work?: When Brainstorm acquires a debuff, low chance (increasing with rank) to inflict that same debuff on the opponent for half the time.
Abilities:

• Noncombatant (passive): If Brainstorm is at max health (ie has not been in a fight/taken damage yet), he gets a damage boost.
• How Did You Get Up There Oh My God: The guy regularly dangles himself from the ceiling. Low chance to not be knocked prone by heavy or special attacks.

Special Attacks:

1. Field Testing: Brainstorm brings the fun stuff to the battlefield. Heavy damage, kickback pushes him out to minimum ranged distance.
2. Too Smart To Die: Can be activated from range. Shoot the hell out of the target and retreat to max distance. Low chance to inflict lingering Special Damage.
3. Try That Again: Open the briefcase. Inflicts lingering Special Damage on the target, heals Brainstorm back to whatever level his health was ten seconds ago, retreats to ranged distance.

Synergies:

• You Get A Gun, and You Get A Gun, and You Get A Gun... (Outgoing): Whirl and Perceptor get ranged damage buffs.
• Amica Endurae (Outgoing): Nautica gets a low damage buff, both melee and ranged.
• Simpatico (Incoming): Peacock for Perceptor!!!! Ranged damage buff and increased percent chance to inflict debuffs if Perceptor is in the party.
• Keep It Together (Incoming): Can't let Rodimus show him up. Low health bonus if Rodimus is in the party.
• Amica Endurae (Incoming): Low damage buff if Nautica is in the party.

Rung
Class: Tactician...?
Signature Ability: Talk Them Down: If Rung goes [?] seconds without taking damage, inflicts a damage debuff on the opponent.
Abilities:

• Evade
• Ranged evade

boy is such a noncombatant I can't even imagine special attacks for him. Improbable weapons from hammerspace Secret Compartments????
Synergies:

• Amica Endurae (Outgoing): Nautica gets a low health buff.
• Keep It Together (Incoming): Everything will be alright. Low health "morale" buff if Rodimus is in the party.
• Amica Endurae (Incoming): If Nautica is in the party, Rung receives a low damage buff.

Nautica
Class: Technician
idk about abilities. Evade, maybe?
Special Attacks:

1. Break It Down: Nautica has busted down at least two doors in canon, she needs a battering ram attack. Like a heavy attack, but multiple times.
2. I Didn't Know It Did That: laser attack with The Wrench. Can be activated at any range. Inflicts lingering Shock damage as well as massive normal damage.
3. idk what to do for The Big One tbh

Synergies:

• Amica Endurae (Outgoing): Rung, Brainstorm, Nightbeat, Skids, and Velocity receive a low damage buff.
• Amica Endurae (Incoming): If Brainstorm is in the party: Low damage boost. If Rung is in the party: low health boost. If Velocity is in the party: 3 second repair/health regen at the start of each fight. If Nightbeat is in the party: Low chance to mimic one of an opponent's abilities. If Skids is in the party: small chance to ignore a fatal hit.

Not sure what to do with Velocity tbh. A faster-moving Ratchet with less attack power, maybe? Deffo some kinda heal skill at least.

Not sure about Chromedome or Rewind either, but they definitely buff each other.

Anode
Class: Scout? Technician? I wanna say techy bc of her job but also the rodsquad is turnin out real tech-heavy
Signature Ability: Blacksmith: If Anode is in the party and has health, may rez one teammate per mission.
Abilities:

• Self-repair
• Thief: Low chance to eliminate opponent's Mod boost

idk what her specials or synergies would be, except something with Lug.

Nightbeat
Class: Tactician
Signature Ability: Got It In One: When an opponent's ability activates, chance to copy that ability.
I'm kinda stumped both for specials and for basic abilities tbh, Nightbeat is also not a very combative dude
Synergies:

• Amica Endurae(Outgoing): Nautica gets a lower-rate copy of his signature ability
• Amica Endurae (Incoming): If Nautica is in the party, Nightbeat gets a low damage buff.

Intentionally keeping Nightbeat to a minimum of synergies, since he is.... surprisingly bad at people for how well he can read social signals and reactions.

Cyclonus
Class: Warrior. Decently fast, reliable-- not necessarily the flashiest bot but the kinda guy who should be a team staple.
Signature Ability: Last Mech Standing: If all other party members are unconscious, Cyclonus gets both health and damage buffs.
Abilities:

• Bleed
• Armor break

Special Attacks:

1. Sord
2. Sord 2: The Sordening
3. Fly And Shoot

Synergies:

• I'll Kill You Someday (Outgoing/Incoming): If Whirl is in the party, both he and Cyclonus get damage buffs.
• Tear Down The Sky (Incoming): If Tailgate is in the party, Cyclonus has a small chance to endure an otherwise-fatal hit a la Waspinator Lives.

Tailgate
Class: Brawler
honestly idk beyond that but Let The Marshmallow Ponch. Give him a Synergy with Whirl too.

Whirl.... I wanna say Whirl's the Demo out of this group? Demo or another Brawler. Synergies with Cy, Tailgate, and maybe something with Rung? It's getting late tho and I am out of game brain.

I don't think we really know enough about Lug's abilities besides "keeping Anode in check, sort of" to even try to build her, and Magnus and Ratchet are already in-game.

Also I had to reread LL7 to get a full count of who's still around, and. There's probably a long rambly post to be made about the mirroring between "Whirl, alone and self-harming and 'saved' by Cyclonus not-so-randomly appearing" waaaaay back in.... god, issue one, and "Cyclonus, alone and self-harming and comforted by Whirl not-so-randomly appearing" here. There are a lot of parallels between LL 7 and MTMTE 1, a lot of backsliding and callbacks and, in some cases, role reversal, but I don't remember picking up on this one on my first read-through.

Also also, I reread 53 for the amica ceremony, and.... sneaky callback. When describing Dominus, Chromedome basically calls him a renaissance man, Dominus can do anything. But... so can Rewind. He can sneak into (or break into) secure buildings, he's got his whole historian thing going on, he evidently has enough of a scientific mind to be stationed on Kimia even though I can't imagine late-stage war caring about keeping conjunx pairs together, and he can steal a sword bigger than he is from Drift, quickly and easily enough that he 1) doesn't get hurt because oh my god you can't just grab a guy's weapons and 2) manages to de-arm Chromedome before anyone can stop him. and he can seduce a classy noblemech into supporting Robot Abolition More badass renaissance bot Rewind in fandom 2k18

On a less depressing note, please imagine those with non-mobile alts (Rung, Rewind...) just.... clubbing someone in the face for a heavy attack.

Rewind's chopped off Chromedome's left arm to save him two times and I think that's beautiful :') And it was with Drift's sword both times too.

(This is exaggeration, technically it was the door the first time, but removing the sword from the door caused it, soooo)

 

also I'm transcribing Signal To Noise because apparently no one has, or at least I haven't seen any publically-available text (scanned images are nice but hard to read sometimes :')) and

Metroplex reached out to a bunch of his titan bros when his space bridge activated, right, that's how we end up seeing the first few other colonies (Velocitron, Eukaris, Devisiun...)
and it's kind of implied that the space bridges are at least part of what helps titans find each other-- Tyrest might not be the most reliable source, but no one (not even Cyclonus, who knows the Old Cybertronian Tyrest uses for the quote, as well as a Lot of both history and religion) questions him when he says there's an old saying that runs "use a titan to find a titan"
Tyrest's space bridge-- the one that led to Skids Weird Vision Plane that may or may not be Cyberutopia and/or wherever the Guiding Hand/Knights actually are-- was cobbled together out of multiple titans' bridges; we never find out of the Lost Light's crew finish rebuilding it, but they certainly give it a go before Thumb Quest kicks off.
