So I joined a while ago but I figured I should probably introduce myself huh :V HELLO I AM THEMUTANT or Mute for short! I am but a humble nerd who reads a truly shocking amount of books (mostly fantasy) and plays too much videogames (mostly Bioware) and daydreams about my homebrew DnD setting and does too much internet instead of actually fixing my numerous problems. I live in western Washington State, hate the cold for some inexplicable reason, and every year catch some vile disease when volunteering as an Enforcer at the Penny Arcade Expo in Seattle. *snuffles and whuffles over hot chocolate* I found my way to Kintsugi since I started following Luka/Vastderp maaaany years ago after discovering him via his rad webcomic Kagerou (I dunno when exactly that was, but I do know the most recent page when I started reading it), thought his blog posts were informative/funny and suddenly oop it's been a shocking amount of time and I've followed him over to Tumblr and thence to the other Northfield Nakama blogs and so on. Weirdly, now that I think about it, Luka/VD is probably my longest-running internet habit- I've stopped reading certain webcomic, moved past various RP forums, migrated from site to site- but I've never stopped being current on Luka/VD's various blogs and arts ever since I started. I draw- or I used to, until I started experiencing serious tailbone pain a couple years ago for no explicable reason and can no longer sit comfortably, and after a few failed attempts at fixing (or even diagnosing) the problem medically I am now far too anxious to try seeking medical attention again and instead spend many many months suffering and finding inaction preferable, WHOOPS. :V I literally do not care what pronouns anyone chooses to refer to me as- male, female, they, none of the above, whatever- as long as we don't start getting to 'nounself' territory, pls and thanks. That's that- I'm pretty friendly and love to chat; I'll be around posting intermittently on the forums probably, but I'm also happy to talk with people on Skype or whatever chat platform (I'm a hell of a better typer than a talker.) about various nerd things; poke me anytime if you'd like to!
Hello! (Side note, my mom actually had a similar issue re tailbone and what happened is that apparently her muscles are too tight in, ehem, that particular area. Her dad had it too. Genetically, I come from a bunch of tight asses. Anyway)
HEY LOCAL HEY LOCAL HEY <- Resident southsounder Talk settings to me. [Scoots up at the mention of homebrew dnd]
pbbbt noooo XD gods that'd get so confusing if someone was referring to me by the easier-to-type nick Mute instead of TheMutant. Glad your mom could actually get a diagnosis at least @___@ I'd kill to actually KNOW WHAT THE PROBLEM IS instead of having to fight my anxiety for months at a stretch just to try random procedures to see if anything helps. *leans in close to whisper seductively in ur ear* mostly DnD 3.5e mechanics but with a few Pathfinder elements inexpertly hammered in because gdi I only KNOW 3.5e and I don't want to have to learn an entirely new system and probably rework half my (enormous) world setting documents, much as I hear Pathfinder and DnD 5e are awesome ;3; anyways the homebrew part is essentially a Material Plane of my own design with its own continents and civilizations and whatnot (the other planes, Baator, Elysium, etc are pretty much the same) plus a few other things like new or tweaked races or monsters and a new (very important to the campaign I wanna run) deity; I don't know established settings like Neverwinter or Greyhawk or Faerun well enough and heck, it's easier for me to just make things up for myself rather than do research on an established settings and inevitably disgrace myself in front of my probably better educated players. :V
