It's the cat spot

 

round these parts the cat spot is 'directly in your armpit' or perhaps 'right on your sternum' if lateral space is limited

the armpit cuddling is pretty great, ngl, but the sternum cuddling is not great for sleep

 

Armpit is a good spot for cats too, sternum/chest/belly... sometimes not so much

One of the fam-in-law's cats likes to be there... but then he creeps up until he's draped around your neck. He wants to be sure he gets his fluff in your mouth.

 

Speaking of fluff, do anyone's cats groom them? Most cats I've had occasionally give a hand or an arm a good lick, but Waif (the aforementioned fluff monster) will sit behind you on the couch and groom your hair for like 20 minutes if you let him. I haven't had cats that groom that thoroughly before.

also once i got fly paper glue in my hair and she tried to tear a bald spot onto my head with her claws getting the residue i missed out

 

My mom's cats would sleep with one behind her knees and one at some spot in front of her, i forget exactly where. If she was late getting to bed she would have to climb in between them because they would already be in their ordained Sleeb Stations

 

One of Anxious Cat's fussing mechanisms is overgrooming. If she's stressed, she'll groom so much she licks her own fur out and gives herself bald patches. She will also, while she's in Lick All The Things Mode.... lick all the things. Petting hands/wrists/arms, whatever she's laying on, any new object you put in front of her..... lick!!!!! And she won't stop until you take the item/body part away from her. (Which is how she ends up with bald spots bc.... can't take the cat away from herself and Shame Cones stress her out even worse.)

On a healthier note, Youngest Cat will occasionally just decide to include the nearest human in bathtime, and groom your hand or arm or hair or whatever she's laying next to.

 

Oh, poor anxious kitty. :(

 

Reaver does what Youngest Cat does. He gets very Focused during bath time, and if you interrupt you get included. He doesn't like licking hair though. If it's longer than arm hair he makes faces.

I've woken up from naps because he took a nap next to my face, woke up and started to bathe, and then started washing my face because it was there and he was in Bath Mode
