Multiple porn fics with same characters from same author = fine. Same characters performing same acts in same configuration in all of them = isn't half the point of writing threesomes to avoid repetitiveness by adding more possibilities? And then add in horrible poetry...
Homestuck thread informs me heteronormativity isn't the right term for this, but I am frustrated by my urge to fully quadrant-up every character. Holding the characters to unrealistic standards even if those standards are fictional makes me feel bad, and I end up having to use crack pairs or ones I don't much like to fill the grid, but on the other hand I feel horrible leaving anyone out. I hate it when I have conflicting compulsions! I know it doesn't matter if some characters only have one or two or three quads filled but I feel like they'd be lonely! Poly up some characters so the grid is filled with ships I do like?
I think it's one thing to want to fill out the grid because you didn't want anyone left out versus compulsory shipping. Thoughts: poly shipping is always yes. You can also have characters be somewhere on the ace/aro spectrum, or maybe have them be aquadrennial and prefer the less defined relationship boundaries of human romance.
I know it's a completely silly compulsion to have; I don't feel a compulsive shipping urge in any other fandom. When it's specifically set up with an even number of characters divided equally by gender and with sufficient non-het-ness to not have all the pairs be boy/girl and no token queer left out in the corner? MUST USE ALL POSSIBILITIES.
I secretly kind of appreciate pair the spares, unless it's a misleadingly tagged ship I'm much more interested in than the main one, or if it manages to be done in a way that offends me.
I'm so glad my special interest fandom is set in a monastery, albeit a mixed-gender one. I have no compulsive need to ship characters who've demonstrated they don't care about not being paired up.
you have a lot to say but the structure of your plot isn't one that'd be helped by a chapter structure?
With help from google and Siri I have calculated this is almost 5,200 pages. In one chapter??? Who has time to scroll that far????? Edit: Update for readers of posterity: I have recalculated and arrived at the startling conclusion that Siri can’t help if I don’t say the entire number.
