I kind of wanna go ask that ficcer what the hell about Rufioh Nitram screams "sociopath who mutilates people". I know it can be done, and heck, I would probably write something like that, but it would need at least some lead-up to explain why and how he's suddenly so different. Besides, in canon, wasn't he desperate for Horuss to leave, not threatening murder to make him stay? (Yandere Kankri is super awesome.)
Does anyone have any yandere Kankri fic recs? It's not something I've seen before and it sounds amazing.
I've only seen meta on my tumblr dash, but seeing someone actually take on writing that and doing it well would be amazing.
Yandere Kankri I'm remarkably adverse to, but that's because of RPers springing it on me without asking me. Or, alternatively, asking me and then not providing me with sufficient knowledge as to what they were going to do. I am but a humble Porrim player. A guro loving one, yes, but you don't just break out the severed hands without at least a first date.
Damn right. People shouldn't mislead other RPers as to what they're going to do. Misleading the reader is for writing, not RPing, and even then you don't spring gore on people out of the blue; springing which character does the gory thing is fine in terms of twists, but there should be some atmosphere implying that gore is a thing that could happen.
fan fic gripes: when you have a great idea for a long fic, but no spoons or time for the pile of WIPs you already have, much less a NEW thing, and the fic won't just write it's own damn self ;_;
Fuckin same. There’s a big ol bnha a/b/o fic percolating in my head right now but I’m already falling behind on my one piece and transformers fics and I have commissions to do to boot. It would be nice if I could somehow clone myself, lol.
I just read a fic by someone who I think believes that a cuckold is a man who performs cunnilingus, and it's upsetting in ways that are difficult to articulate.
For some reason I have a mental block on cross-Scratch shipping. I feel like the pre-Scratch players are way too old for the post-Scratch players, and with the ones who died pre-meteor that's accurate, but sixteen and nineteen isn't a big gap so, say, Karkat/Meenah wouldn't be all that weird. Plus there would be all the dead selves who died at different times so the gap would be different. I still kind of class them into two groups of Older Ones and Younger Ones and I feel like it's a weird thing to have a mental block on. Or maybe I just split them into two different sets on some other basis, I don't know.
maybe the meme meant they saw the word out of context and misinterpreted it? like, i'm pretty sure that there are variants of the meme that don't really define the word all that clearly.
I want to go back and rewrite an old beginning-of-fic of mine because my worldbuilding and working out family trees in a non-clone AU was a complete mess but I'm struggling to put together one which works. Bah.
Would I be looked down on if I rewrite the AU in question to be desperately self-indulgent and stuff it with random stuff I like up to and including shipping everyone with everyone?
AU in question was originally a fill for a meme request wanting specific pairings. I was struggling with it because the pairings aren't really my OTPs but I love the idea; since the prompt's several years old, think anyone would mind if I poly-ed 'em up a bit?
It's not so much a gripe as much as a small amount of frustration at finding fanfictions revolving more if not focused completely around story than on romance/ships/etc., that's well and good, of course! And lots of fun! But sometimes I just want to read something about some fellows getting chased by bees while fighting a ghost pirate but all I can find is writings of them having the smooches in the Arizona desert. (There is no such fanfiction that I am aware of that exists with this plot, it's just an example. I kind of wish there was though! Maybe I'll get off my lazy rear and write it.)
So, someone's already writing a fix-it fic for TLJ, and the thing is, the first chapter of it is more or less just a transcript of the first scene of the movie put into the author's own words, and the author's note says that the plot wasn't gonna diverge much till the very end, and it's like. Yunno, you can just rewrite the bits you didn't like. You don't have to. Transcribe from memory the parts of the movie you did like and present them as your own work. In script format, with centered text.
