I haven't watched the ending in a long while so I'm not sure of exact timing or if we see reactions afterwards, but depending on when John sees Crocker!Dad and how similar the two appear outside of HS Art Simplification, I could definitely buy John running into someone-who-might-be-(Egbert!)Dad's arms, and then realizing "no wait, this is the wrong person" somewhere offscreen because The Ending Is Hella Rushed.
Also, am I the only one in the fandom who's pretty sure the implication was supposed to be that Kurloz caused Mituna's accident? I've never seen anyone else bring it up.
I've seen it in.... at least one fic, though I couldn't say where anymore. Definitely something I've heard, though.
Today in the continuing saga of "why I avoid the Stormlight Archive Tumblr fandom": somebody apparently made a comic which cinnamon-roll-ified Lift and featured her not knowing the word "ass." This is the opening of the interlude where she is introduced. Her shining introductory moment in Oathbringer is to declare, "You can't trust old men with good butts." If this kid doesn't know the word "ass," it'd only be a sign that it doesn't exist in any language she speaks.
Even if she wasn't an itinerant street urchin and thief, Lift is not by nature the kind of kid who blushes and giggles at how naughty they're being when they say ~bad words~. She's the kind who finds out someone can speak another language and immediately asks them to teach her swear words in it. She probably demanded Wyndle tell her Voidbringer swears at some point.
Holy shit fandom Noctis is not an older brother figure to Prompto. They are two fucking months apart in age and are roughly the same level of utter disaster children. Stop trying to force familial relations to try to defuse homoerotisim its just wierd the two relationship catagories are not “substitute for a nuclear family” and “fucking”
Humanstuck Cronus keeps getting portrayed as Italian-American. I feel that by rights he ought to be about as convincingly Italian as I am (i.e. maybe there is some in his ancestry, from about when the Roman Empire occupied Britain).
The hair and the bit where "greaser" is closely associated with "mafia", I think. There's a lot of similarities in the outfit and appearance.
Yeah, but the whole point of his greaser persona is that it's a persona that he adopted and he wasn't like that from the start. He just picked it up from humans because he thought it sounded cool. Speaking of Homestuck, is it fandom-acceptable to officially declare that I'm a fan of and going to use certain bits of a fandom while discarding all the rest?
I would like it if people stopped having Nepeta talk in babytalk/replacing all l's with w's, th's with d's, etc. It's super infantilizing and I'm just tired of it.
Less bad, but constantly replacing “you” with “mew” in Nepeta dialogue drives me insane. It’s a weak as shit homophone, I don’t know if she ever uses it in canon, and it makes her dialogue impossible to read
To be fair I mostly see it in Tumblr roleplay and less in fanfic, but it seems like it's becoming more common. @Birdy agreed, cosigned, stamped. A lot of people go way too fucking hard on the cat pun replacements. I'm pretty sure she never uses "mew" like that in canon and her style of talking is usually pretty fucking clear and she doesn't use cat puns every other word. Mostly just puts "fur" or "paw" or "purr" where they make sense (sometimes.... less sense, to be fair, but still. It's never to the ludicrous degree of a lot of fanfic/fan content.)
Quirks always get cranked up to eleven in fic. Just a part of the general character exaggeration that inevitably happens :/
Spoiler: TLJ spoilers so, some folks have said some words about how they're really upset that there were scenes in TLJ where some of Kylo's backstory got told, because all it showed them was that Kylo turned because he was an entitled white boy, and everyone already knew that so there was no point in wasting time on his backstory at all, but like. The part of his backstory the movie revealed was the night he turned, and the actual thing what that happened to make him turn to the darkside was, uh. Luke went into his little padawan hut to watch him sleep and ruminate on his nephew's more worrisome personality traits or whatever, and then he looked into Ben's skull, and what he saw there made him briefly consider murdering the dude in his sleep. Like, he had his lightsaber ignited and everything. I do feel like a man is entitled to not be murdered in his sleep for thought crimes, whether or not he is white.
