=n= the polished remained gummy for hours afterward despite dry-time, thin layers etc. etc. gonna do a different top coat on top of that Revlon stuff bc I think the triple shine was the culprit for gummy problems. will take pics upon completion bc shower first.
shiny nails Take Two: Revlon Spun Sugar + two coats of Pure Ice Mint Dream = SHINY AS FUCK VAGUELY MINTY NAILS
I'm very pleased with how these turned out! Wish I had some rhinestones or a dotting tool so I could fancy up the other nails tho.
Spoiler: bigpic Broadway "Natural Bronze" over Sinful Colors "Zoned Out," which is listed as matte but is actually this really nice blue-gold iridescent holo kinda thing? A paler gold than the Natural Bronze, so it's not photographing well, but aaaaa pretty pastel iridescence is life
even though it's still hot out, it's late september and the leaves are starting to turn. this means it's time for BLACK AND GOLD NAILS! top is natural light, bottom is fluorescent. the black glitter is three coats of Sally Hansen "Luxe Lace"; i really like the way it looks but one coat gives a much sparser glitter (like this.) the gold is... a color i've had for YEARS and years and i'm at work right now and i don't remember what it's called, lol. i'll check and edit this post when i get home.
nothing special or fancy about this manicure-- but this is my favorite nailpolish color ever. if i had to choose one color for my nails to permanently be it would be this: Sally Hansen "Copperhead." i really love metallics, i really love copper colors, and i just think it looks good with my skin tone. i've only got about 1/3 of a bottle left, though... i hope i can find some more eventuallly.
i re-organized my collection! i have these flat tupperware boxes that are supposed to be for christmas ornaments, and i had to expand to a second level so i re-organized everything, in chromatic order.
autumn leaf nails! sponge gradient with China Glaze Budding Romance (green), Wet N Wild Orange Smoothie (yellow-orange), and China Glaze Bend Over Backwards (red-orange). i love doing sponge gradients.
Spoiler: an big Sparkly silver/holo glitter over a dark blue my camera refuses to see as anything other than black :')
winter holiday nails! a sponge gradient of Essie "Blue Rhapsody" and Essie "Go With The Flowy." the accent nail is Sally Hansen "Sugar Fix", which is a textured polish (remember when those were popular a few years ago?) that is matte and rough. i was going for a snow-and-ice look.
It's been nearly two weeks and these have only just started chipping, so +1 for Julie G "it's all about the base" basecoat
Apparently I can never do a simple one color set. Stark Raven Mad over OPI Black Onyx, accent nail is BMC Liquid Gold and Sally Hansen Bold Gold. These pics do not do the holo justice.
For UK based peeps: Wilko have a range of Essence polishes, of which the holo rainbow range is excessively glittery and extra; I am wearing two coats of 03 Holo Rocks. It only costs £2.80 a bottle. Spoiler: Pics My camera struggled to capture the colour shift properly.
Clearly the appropriate response to a manager getting snippy about appearance choices is to write rude things in foreign languages in pretty pretty colors Spoiler
i bought a couple new polishes! both holographic, both from ILNP. i've only tried this one because as soon as i put it on i fell in love and didn't want to take it off again: i had to use flash to get the camera to properly capture just how DANG RAINBOWY this color is! ILNP "Missed Calls", one coat over a coat of plain black. i also tried it without any color underneath, and two coats is if anything even more sparkly, but more of a dark gray than black.
