So, there's a character in Darker Than Black who goes by the codename "November 11." As he's an MI6 agent, the fact that the 11th of November is James Bond's birthday is almost certainly a deliberate reference. As such, I have decided that he totally picked that name himself like a nerd, and has strong opinions on who the best Bond is. MI6 okayed it because people who can kill an entire room full of people with the contents of a coffee mug aren't so easy to come by that they can afford not to occasionally indulge an eccentricity.

All the chickens on Roshar are actual chickens (of the genus Gallus) and are various breeds of fancy chickens.

all boss monster babies have floppy ears like the dreemurrs do

some have their ears stiffen up and become swivelears as they age, others don't, and those that do end up with swivel ears as opposed to lop ears can have their ears stiffen as late as their teenage years or as early as like...5

in a speciesswap au, frisk would be able to perk up their ears a bit, but their resting state would be 'lop'

i saw a headcanon a long time ago that the reason nose-nuzzling is something you can get prizes for in the underground is that monster nose-nuzzling typically includes like...a magical expression of affection

this is not a bullet pattern, it cannot hurt anybody, and it varies depending on who is involved
monsters can learn to partially control it, and competition sprung up for 'who has the most impressive nuzzling display'

human magic users can do it too

direct offshoot of that: chara and frisk's nuzzling/magic affection display thingy is a starfield

you know, the one that shows up when they're on the floor in napstablook's house?

yeah, they were snuggling chara and then, magic!

The reason Papyrus says he wants to meet Death is because the Grim Reaper is often depicted as a skeleton, and he figures they might be lonely.

The reason Steven was homeschooled was because Pearl refused to let him set foot in a kindergarten, and refused to ask follow-up questions about what Greg was actually referring to.

The joke theory that Caliborn wrote the ending has an ominous amount of backup.

since monsters got most of their electronics from the dump+most of their cds, cartridges, etc too, monster video games have a lot of focus on Not Being Huge. external drives etc were very expensive! you wanted your game to be small!

    or in other words

there are people who charge to convert your code into raw hexadecimal or assembly
your average monster game juggles memory addresses like an old pokemon game
photorealistic or otherwise big graphics are discouraged

monster games are largely 'retro' by human standards and even the ones with fancy graphics tend to have the same kind of glorious glitches as old, old games, just a bit less because they know how to stop some of them now
also they tend to take up a really small amount of space

The Annoying Dog just showed up in the skelebros' house after whatever went down with Gaster. Sans and Papyrus are both convinced that the other brought the dog in and won't own up to it. Dog never leaves.

related to that above headcanon about monster gaming traditions

most monster game programmers are either a. oldies who helped develop either monster programming languages as a whole or the very early games; or b. people who got started via investigating or otherwise learning about glitches.

as a result 'glitch professor' is an actual job. there are monsters paid to investigate and teach about glitches in programming especially the really absurd and interesting ones from older games.

    Scheherazade It's a story fractal

@Wingyl If Gaster ever came back from the Void and decided he wanted to try a new job now that the Royal Scientist position was filled by someone else, they could have a glitch professor who also is a glitch. :D
