It seems she does. Yinglet teeth!

Oh. Oh, poor troll. Is s/he Summoner spawn?

    ....hmm.
well, given that the Summoner’s rebellion is the one that resulted in all adult trolls being banished....
it’s entirely possible this troll is somehow “related” to the Summoner—i.e. is a grub from a collection of “slurry” that the Summoner’s, uh....genetic material....was part of.
although they could also just have heard rumors or legends about a flying troll and want that too?

i mean. technically I think many trolls could be? like he's not a descendant in the way Tavros is but assuming that Summoner donated slurry at least once, probably more than a few trolls have a couple bits of DNA descended from him. Not enough to cause enough similarity that they'd get his sign, but.

(ftr i figure that it's probably not the case that every batch of slurry gets fed to the Mother Grub, then entirely used up on one clutch of eggs. I think it's more likely that it's staggered and that any given batch of eggs came from a mixture of slurries from many sweeps apart.)

yeah, but I think the specific interesting thing here is he’s a bronzeblood who also has dreams of flight that seem implied to be like—wing-related. which might suggest a strong link—not as strong as Tavros, but....something like, this troll has more of the Summoner’s DNA than other trolls from the same batch might’ve gotten?
I feel bad for them though like
they probably are not going to achieve the kind of flight they want

Yeah, I was thinking "from a batch Summoner was part of", not like directly related in the way a human would be. The long horizontal horns plus the flying thing make me think they might have a higher-than-average dose of Summoner's genes, though obviously not a full-on nearly-genetically-identical descendant.

...wait, i thought the joke was they were trying to build their own plane, not that they did or didn't have biological wings? they're dressed like an aviator after all.

Well, yes, but I mean the urge for flight in general?

I was mostly responding to cA. sorry to be confusing!

I mean, they can’t exactly dress like a winged troll cause that’s not a thing. “desire for non-interstellar flight” is all it says—and wanting to make an airplane is just as much a way to get that as growing wings.
    plus, airplanes have wings. :P
my thought is that they have a desire to fly, but the logical route is a plane, because....wings are a mutation and that doesn’t happen. but maybe the desire for flight in the normal planet sky instead of space travel is because of having more-than-average Summoner DNA.

eta: I wasn’t saying the joke was about if they’d grow wings. I was saying that their desire seems tied in to the sort of flight I would associate with wings. like....they want to fly in the sky over the planet, not fly for space travel. to me, the first things I think of there are birds, but of course they can’t make themselves a bird, so....plane. but it seems wing-related to me. if that makes sense.

Tumblr seems divided over whether Folykyl and Kuprum are moirails or whether she's just tagging along without him noticing, but I want them to be in blackrom. NO MY PHENOMENAL POWERS ARE NOT FOR YOU TO DRAIN, HAIRY GREMLIN, THEY ARE FOR THE GLORY OF THE EMPIRE.

Thinking of doing some art with Beekeeper, run into an issue. A lot of fanart depicts Beekeeper's sigil as Geminius, same as Kuprum's, but a) it's now taken and b) squinting at the concept art and it doesn't look quite like that, or like any of the EZ yellow sigils. Anyone's suggestions?

i'd just use the symbol from the concept art. there's no law against multiple trolls having the same symbol or symbols which aren't part of the zodiac.

Just wondering if anyone thought it looked like any specific sign we've got on the list.

How old is Jude supposed to be? Tumblr's doing the thing again and yelling about how we mustn't ship him with Dammek because they claim he's under ten, I saw someone go as young as seven. (They also thought Joey was nine when she's fourteen, but then the art style might not be helping.)

the wiki says he’s between ten and thirteen, but i’m not sure of the source on that

I was assuming a similar age gap between Joey and Jude as between me and my siblings - which would make Jude 12 to Joey's 14, and would explain why hanging out with his friends has only recently gotten super awkward for her. I think Joey would've been a little bit more worried about him, and a lot more reluctant to take tactical advice from him, if the gap were more than two or three years; it wouldn't feel right for her to go "okay, I'm going to hide in the attic, you stay in your treehouse" if her brother was under ten years old.

When I had to solve the snake game I had no idea that there was a note with the password - I somehow missed the fact that you could inspect the desk - so I had to do the whole thing by memorizing the symbols trial-and-error style. Fortunately I have a pretty good visual memory but it was still a pain in the ass and took forever.
