whenever my phone tries to auto-fix a word or I try to type punctuation, it throws in a random set of letters
for science: am using a Galaxy S7, most recent version of Android for that phone, using SwiftKey keyboard. also, sometimes hitting space inserts letters randomly
I also have issues on Kint with words repeating when I try to delete them but it's sporadic and I never know when it'll happen
Just to try to figure out the scope of the issue, I’ve got an iphone 6s that's completely up to date and I haven't noticed any issues with Kintsugi. No autocorrect or predictive text problems.
Is it just Kintsugi, or do other forums running on the same base code like Spacebattles and Feed the Beast do the thing too? That might be helpful.
I found a random other forum where a bunch of people seem to be having similar issues, but I'm not sure how to tell if it's Xenforo. https://www.resetera.com/threads/anyone-else-having-swiftkey-issues-with-resetera.19469/
i don't seen any indication that resetera uses xenforo anywhere. on kintsugi, there is a message crediting xenforo in the bottom left
the style chooser is in the same place and their forum statistics are formatted the same way as ours are
Aaaand here's something that looks similar specifically linked to Xenforo, but it's a couple years old. I wouldn't bother linking something from 2015 except it looks so much like it could be the same problem, and also it has a video of the problem happening: https://xenforo.com/community/threads/rich-text-editor-problems-with-chrome-on-android.100315/ One common thing suggested between these two threads is the rich text editor.
I was about to link that same thread, because it shows basically exactly my issue, except switching to the default Google keyboard only partially alleviates the issue. I did just switch off the rich text editor as suggested in that thread and that helps the issue a LOT.
Kinda weird that a ticket closed (albeit marked "cannot reproduce") in 2015 suddenly resurfaces. Maybe it could actually get resolved for real this time.
