Things that are currently annoying you

OMG a direct deposit that was supposed to get made last week did not get made and I found out about it this morning when I tried to use my debit card. I'm only $35 overdrawn, but it's 7 transactions. Fuck banks. It's been straightened out. But the fees.

 

Finally blew up at my dad and called him the liar we both know he is, he tried to lie to me right after he said he wasn’t one. He’s still trying to claim trump got rid of the tax penalty for not having health insurance.

Edit: well shit he might not have lied about that, but he’s still a fucking liar.

 

I'm so tired, but I can't go to bed yet. I can't go to bed because half of my bedding is still in the laundry, and it's too cold to go with just one sheet or a blanket. Even if I put the space heater on, it's going to be too cold for that. I need all my blankets.

 

I have been at work for 12 hours now, I hate Valentine’s Day so much.

 

Matesprit has acquired suction-cup blackout curtains for me, to replace the Crappy Awful curtain that was duct-taped over the window for my room. This would be lovely, except 1) the suction cups aren't sticking to the wall (I'm probably supposed to stick them to the window, now that I think about it), and 2) this is money that didn't need to be spent because we already have actual curtains. Nice ones. Ones which need only to have the appropriate hardware attached to the wall so that we can hang them up.

Granted, this requires drilling holes in the wall and the walls in this apartment are weird and resistant to having holes put into them, and also the drill is Loud and Awful, and we don't have quite the right size of drill bit for either starting the holes or possibly even putting the hardware up. But the current argument for why it would be better to use the blackout curtains instead of putting up the nice blinds which can be adjusted so that I can decide how I want them, is that we're probably going to be moving in six months anyways so What's The Point.
Which, this is a stupid argument. We're not going to take down the hardware when (if) we move. Same as how I'm not removing the chain-lock to the laundry room door, because these are actual improvements to the apartment. And it's not like avoiding putting up the blinds will give us less work on move-out, we've already got half-drilled holes and removing the duct-taped curtains chipped the paint. So those would need to be fixed before we could move.

At least putting up the real blinds would mean the frigging holes are covered. >_>

 

There’s hand washing discourse on tumblr now. Why...this shouldn’t be something people argue about. Just wash your hands after going to the bathroom, it’s not hard.

Or at least, that's what I've seen on the two posts about it, and the argument I've heard from cis men irl about not washing their hands after they pee. "If I don't get urine on my hands, then they aren't dirty and don't need washing."

I mean as a person who has a lot of trouble picking up pretty much any sanitary habit, I get uncomfy when people are viscerally uncomfortable with any level of uncleanliness, but I also know enough to actually punch my executive dysfunction and wash my hands if I'm going to be doing anything to do with other people.
