If you get someone who's determined to pick over your words for any possible flaws, I doubt they'll be deterred by an amplifier used as a hedge. But it may at least affect the tone as perceived by a less biased reader. Whether or not it would be enough by itself without any other type of hedging in any particular context, I really couldn't say. Tone is strange and difficult.

(Big hat there. I'm coming at it from a different direction because I prefer to use more hedging and feel very irate at people who want to tell me that's bad. And plenty of people seem to think it is. You just can't win.)

I'm writing a paper this semester about language and slang that has sprung up in gaming communities, specifically video game and tabletop slang. would anyone want to be interviewed for that? I'm focusing on what words get shortened, what words are unique to the vernaculars and which were repurposed, and trying to find a pattern in what words were chosen

It's a curse

 

Cleaned and rearranged my room, and put my computer and Xbox one on a table I bought. It’ll be nice to not have to hunch over. Maybe now I can actually use my desk for crafting stuff, after I clean the bank statements off and put them away. Slowly but surely making my room how I want it.

Edit: ok good my Xbox one works with the Acer monitor which means I don’t need that big tv anymore. Now I just need something that will let me connect both my xbox and computer to the same monitor, and get a better set of headphones for the Xbox.
