The r/eroticauthors one isn't. 4chan lite would be all over weird. That particular subreddit is about cookie-cutter shit which sells on Amazon, and I'm coming to the conclusion that I'm not capable of writing to the target market on Amazon. People who would want the stuff I write usually go for the free stuff, apparently. As for the stuff which does sell on Amazon, long-form romance makes me want to throw up, almost all fictional depictions of femsub offend me, and Werewolves Should Not Work That Way. /rant Okay, yes, I would get behind that too! But still, it would have to be a really fucky view of wolves to explain the hermaphroditism. Sorry about the link, I shouldn't have said "worksafe". My mistake. A clean page, then.
Haha, that sounds a lot like something my brain might do. I find it a lot more effective than jamming a candy bar in my mouth like in a commercial if I need a moment to process in a conversation. Though to be fair I've never actually tested the candy bar jamming method. And I totally get where you're coming from too. It makes complete sense to me that those things could really break someone's immersion, even though they don't usually do that to me. Here's to variety! May we all find things that avoid our squicks and peeves.
It's good that that reddit isn't like that! But the whole target amazon market thing also sounds annoying. :) and thanks!
Basically nothing sells except 50 Shades on Amazon, apparently. I checked out the Top 100 and my GOD they're dreary. I'm not the target market though.
...ew, sigh. Well, 50 shades and Chuck Tingle. :) 50 Shades of Chuck Tingle? It would at least be funny.
Reddit's hard to nail down in some ways, because a lot of the tone depends on how the particular subreddit is run. r/overwatch isn't that bad most of the time, thought it's got its characters, whereas the now-defunct r/incels was absolutely a goddamn cesspit. I stick around a lot of the talesfrom subreddits and they tend to be pretty chill places with a combination of venting and funny stories, which seems to be the modal state in my experience--mostly moderate and leaning-liberal posters who just want to blow off steam for a bit, be that through funny posts, venting posts, or heartwarming stories, usually in communities catered to their specific desires. That said, like all bioware communities, the dragon age subreddit is a shithole.
Oh it very much depends on the subreddit. While I understand why the site as a whole is derided as being r/incels or r/atheism quality horseshit it's really not. Reddit is weird that way. There's honestly chunks of it I greatly prefer to those things' communities on tumblr.
Hey guys, since this is a general use thread can everyone be a bit liberal with nsfw spoilers when it comes to sex related head canons and explicit A/B/O type things please? I've gotten some concerned reports. I really appreciate the help with things, thank you.
Well yeah. I was thinking of any and all werewolf fiction that makes a big deal about alphas and betas and omegas and assigns them various not-existing-in-lupine-reality social roles, not just a/b/o, because it sometimes shows up quite independently of hermaphroditism and mpreg.
I cannot in any way see how being a werewolf would result in hermaphroditism, at all, so most a/b/o just leaves me baffled.
In my experience, most modern a/b/o leaves off the werewolf bit entirely. See also: long history of buttbabies in m/m fanfiction completely removed from any concept of werewolves.
I mean, as I understand it, the prompt that started the entire thing wasn't werewolves, so I don't think it's just "modern."
Yeah, I just associate it with werewolfery because of my former roommate who was super into Teen Wolf and specifically Sterek.
Really the only thing I want to see more of with omegaverse is f/f and f/m. Like I just want ladies with dicks fucking ladies or dudes and having some vaguely wolf kink bullshit going on too. It's really fucking stupid and porny, but it is a sort of stupid and porny when it falls into ships I like and I feel it is written ok. To this day there is only one example of it that I like. -looks at that ana/mercy omegaverse fic with reverent awe- only you could get me to love this very stupid concept, only you I want like. Furry au fanfic too. But with like stupid furry porn stereotypes going on. Foxes are sluts, wolves are obsessed with being ALPHAS, and rabbits never top. NOW GO.
Good to hear! If anyone (mods or otherwise) would like me to spoiler anything, I'd be more than happy to. I'm just not sure I have the spoons to go back and reread right now on my own.
