The weird shenanigans with Scorponok and bonding with organics and weird detachable head shtick, plus those claws, make me wonder if there's something fandom-y to be done with him and an experiment on the base empurata procedure. Like shadowplay was kicking it up a notch, or flatheads, Scorponok getting something similar that didn't pan out into a common Thing. Of course, he needs to display a little more genuine emotion for me to get attached to him, but there's potential in there.

Nickel's lips make me DEEPLY uncomfortable, and I need to catch up with saving these comics locally again so I can shamelessly edit them out. I think I skipped dark cybertron before and got into.... the thirties? So I'm maybe a third of the way, accounting for skipping and crossovers. I really ought to just do it, it would be maybe an a few hours of work and sore wrists to just save the silly things :/

This is an interesting thing with the different configurations affecting Grimlock's brain! I like that a LOT. It's engineer-y :3c Also, because reliability engineer, now I'm wondering, like... Cybertronians change shape on a reasonably regular basis, especially if they're like Grimlock and their alt mode doesn't mean they've got restricted usability on a ship. Applying pressure and taking it away and applying pressure and taking it away, etc. etc. etc, that's going to wear on things. Over time, there's going to be wearout damage on his brain module. And that's his brain. Cumulative brain damage seems.... less than ideal. The comic would never slow down enough for this, but I'd be really up for some experimental medical stuff for applying those pressure points to his brain in a way that they WON'T SHIFT when he transforms, and are secure and stable in alt and root mode.

Oh fuck, this whole 'he needs the pressure to function', that's like... reverse trepanning. Instead of drilling holes in his skull to relieve pressure, we jam extra things in his head to increase it. Given that we have a character literally named trepan and given that the plot is HIGHLY centered on Weird Medicine and trepan is a Weird Medic, that is interesting to me

Nitpick, though, I think that explanation could have been delivered in fewer words. That one panel with Krok being like fake dismantled, reassembled, etc., the writing could have just stopped at the fake dismantled and let people fill in the gaps :T

I absolutely LOVE fulcrum undermining Scorponok and being like 'yo, what's his deal'

(also, robots made of wood are an interesting twist on 'organic robots' and it's a branch of the science i wish we'd gotten to see more of)

I'm DYING. This is weird and I have no idea what's going to happen next and also Blackrock occupies some interesting sorta-hybrid territory if we're going to be picky about things, and how does Scorponok's mindmeld shit even work, but I'm into it

Also yesterday I was at an aquarium and they had some shark egg sacs chilling behind glass and gestating, and in the more developed ones you could see the babies move, and this is reminding me a lot of that

And then let the procreation happening without stealing lives, because... the death of a parent to create a child is kind of the direct opposite of sustainable procreation? (this reminds me of the hollow kingdom books, where the elf moms were pretty well guaranteed to die in childbirth because they'd lost access to their magic, and it had been long enough that This Is Just What Happens, it's always been this way, and the only one who realizes how fucked this situation has become is a freaked out young woman with a natural talent for math)

Oh man, Nickel and technoism and organics! Her home being destroyed by organics, plus falling in with Tarn, who's probably got the classic flavor megatron-esque anti-organic bias to begin with OuO Plus that whole philosophy probably infusing the decepticons especially, given the trickle-down from leadership :DDDDD This is INTERESTING, and Scorponok hasn't gotten to do an Emotion yet, but I like the way this weird, weird man thinks
