Pumpkin pie can stay but I'd like to vote to gently boot sweet potato pie from all holiday dinners forevermore. I like sweet potato but it doesn't need all that extra sugar.

I'm not a big cake eater, but when I feel like cake I go for pound cake or carrot cake.

 

Right now I am real big on making late summer plum cake which is basically just a sponge that you bake a heap of plums into and give a cronchy top with sugar.

Also parents bought some of ASDAs spotted dick cake which is one of my very favourite store bought cakes even if it has a weird texture.

As for pumpkin pie. My first visit to the states happened in early November and I ate pumpkin everything and fell very much in love.

 

Oh man, if we were stranded on a desert island with only one dessert, we'd probably have some high priority questions about that whole situation. And one of us would probably be unhappy about the dessert as well.

My problem with pecan pie is the pecans. I can handle corn syrup as long as I don't overdo it and it's not on pancakes at breakfast. I agree that French silk is very boring, but mousse is filed with avocados in my brain as "good idea but why the texture". Though that recipe does sound like a much nicer flavor.

(I don't like pumpkin pie either. The smell is nice but it's too pumpkin for my mouth. Sometimes it gets avocado with the consistency and the single dollop of Reddi-wip can't save it. It can't save anything. Oh no Reddi-wip.)

 

Yeah, you're not gonna like pecan pie if you don't like pecans!!!

Pecans are one of my favourite things to eat in the entire universe. Not just for dessert. I like salted pecans by themselves, I like spicy pecans in fruit salad, my favourite ice cream is butter pecan.

BUT I'm 100% with you about the avocados.

You certainly did! I was just entertained at how different our opinions were regarding the problems with contested pies.

 

Not sure what's the best thread for this but I felt I had to share. I had ice in my wheels this morning making them vibrate, so I pulled over at a gas station and was about to get out with my big black two-handed scraper / snow brush combo to deal with it when I saw two police SUVs in the lot. First thought that went through my head was they could mistake the scraper for a gun, panic, and shoot me 20 times, there would be nothing I could do about it, and they wouldn't have any repercussions. I looked around and saw the cops were nowhere in sight before getting out.

Life hack: can't be arsed to undo the many layers of cord bracelets you're wearing in order to do the dishes? Use low tack masking tape to secure those bad boys out of splashy water range. It doesn't hurt to peel it off even if you are a hairy bear (like what I am).

Fuck yeah Rekorderlig Botanical cider. Grapefruit-rosemary flavour pleasingly clean and light, though I wasn't looking forward to it much. Rhubarb-lemon-mint also very good. Didn't get much of a chance to try the peach-basil, but I will rectify that soon.

 

Oh man, I LOVE cider and that sounds delicious! Especially the grapefruit-rosemary one...

I'll listen to pretty much any of the gorillaz, and some other fun stuff like studio killers, mystery skulls, and glass animals. Musicals are good too! I like heathers and hamilton the best right now, but the cats soundtrack is glorious and defying gravity from wicked is a huge fave of mine.

I also have a spotify playlist called memes, its a collection of songs from youtube animation memes, and a lot of them get played when im trying to do something else and need good bg music.

 

I really like the new lost in space Netflix show. I started watching for the robot but kept watching because of the kids.
