Raisins can be nice but sometimes i'll have to stop eating them because of some tiny piece of grit that makes me nope out Grit on your teeth is the Very Worst
My problem with raisins in other food is twofold: 1) they are very sweet and they are often hidden in things that I don't want to be sweet (like sausage) or that are already plenty sweet (oatmeal cookies) and do not need to be sweeter; 2) their texture can be a huge nope on top of that.
I've never had it, but it seems to me raspberries and tuna fish would make a tasty combo. Any opinions on that? Also what are some other strange flavor combos y'all like?
Whole Foods has a tuna salad with cranberries and apples that’s not bad. I’m not sure how the tanginess of raspberries would work out, but you could try it.
Dried cranberries work well in tuna sandwiches and many salads. The texture is similar to a raisin but less of a nope because they're bright red and my mouth is not surprised that they're there, and the tartness is less offputting in savoury food than the unadulterated sweetness of raisins, which are Extra about it and ruin most foods.
Im sorry cT but you are so wrong. Cranberries are a painfully sour insult to all that is good and right in the world
Question for you all: if your plain yoghurt/rice pudding: bland and creamy dessert of choice is topped with fruity compote or sauce, do you stir it through so it's evenly distributed or keep em seperate? I'm firmly in the "separate" camp but my partner likes to stir his into a uniform gloop.
i've never had rice pudding, but for yogurt i'm mixing it in, always we get this yogurt with strawberry compote and granola and imagining not mixing it in is making me shudder a little
