I really love how the structure of a psytrance track works so damn well to support the story the lyrics are telling. I feel ashamed Again and again Nothing to give No one to blame During the day I guess I’m okay Which is certainly suggestive that there’s a fucking story there, especially with that last line! But you don’t get the rest yet because that’s not how these songs work. You get the repeating introductory theme as the song slowly builds around it. Then when the song has gradually worked up to it, you quietly get the second verse with the next piece of the story. Then as you digest that, the volume and beat come back with a vengeance and the loud emotions crash the fuck in. And the variation where feeding becomes beating, which repeats like it’s glitched just enough times to leave the self in myself hanging out in the cold just off the end of the verse. I like the song.
