Why are you guys naming all the best vegetables and saying they’re bad Give them all to me I will make a delicious stir fry and be happy
Bell peppers and mushrooms are two of the few fruits/vegetables I can eat at all. Raw bell pepper? Good. Cooked bell pepper? Good. Cooked mushroom? Good. Raw mushroom? Dunno, haven't tried it, but not particularly affronting.
(also I wouldn't eat the cookie mountain cake as is because chocolate chip cookies and icing is too sweet!) (BUT. if they were gingerbread cookies or something that tastes less uniformly sweet I would)
The worst vegetable of all time is celery. Can't do it cooked. Can't do it raw. Cooked it just tastes funky to me. Raw it sets off my texture issues shit.
I wonder if celery is like cilantro where there is some genetic component in the ability to taste a certain flavor. People who hate celery really hate it, while a lot of people are like, "meh".
The strings are literally why I cannot handle it when it's raw. That and it makes a really...disconcertingly juicy crunch? I'm not sure how to describe the cronch but it just ain't one I like much.
I kinda wanna do a test for that, because both my parents like cilantro but I don´t. I´m one of the people it tastes like soap to.
i was so fucking baffled when i was told it tasted like soap by someone the first time genetics is weird weird and neat god damn that was a confusing day for a young me though
i love raw celery but there is only one vegetable i hate more than cooked celery cooked celery is the worst soggy terrible texture terrible taste it has never once contributed anything useful to my meals
Pickled fish battle! So, if there was a buffet with pickled that my family went to; after me, my dad and my sister went through, the pickled fish would be devastated. But my mother and my brothers were like, "Gross!"
Ive never had pickled fish but id definitely be willing to try it! I love fish and in general pickled things with a few exceptions. As for raw celery, i like the cronch only in two ways. First is in tuna salad chopped into bits, and strange enough as ants on a log. Whats weird about that is i hate raisins, peanut butter, and celery a LOT on their own. Cooked celery doesnt bother me at all usually.
I come from one of those cultures that pickles damn near everything so I'm all for it I remember that like at fairs you could legit just buy cups of pickled veggies in brine to beat that heat
