I have some very, er, niche kink ideas for Hiveswap fic but I don't want those to be the first thing I write in a new fandom. Anyone got any worksafe prompts they wanna see? Because I can't think of any and it's annoying me.
It took me roughly fifteen hours to psych myself up to do half an hour of work on my current comic project. What even.
Keep getting scenes writing themselves in my head, right words and all... when I'm in bed, body shut off but brain not there yet, and while I do keep a notebook by my bed I'd need to get up to turn the light on. Aaaaaand naturally I always lose everything but the general idea the next day.
tfw you want to write some sweet fluffy stuff but your brain keeps demanding you write pain and suffering instead
whatever i do to this character's face, he just ends up looking more and more like nic cage... he is supposed to be a handsome robot man. he looks like is about to start yelling about bees. i don't know how this has happened.
I want to write so badly but nothing's coming to me except all these loose scattered fragments of wildly different characters and scenarios that I can barely work with and I am dying
I finally have a PC so I can try drawing again, but I can't afford Photoshop (and I hear nothing but ill about that subscription thing anyways) nor Corel Painter :( I know firealpaca's free but it really doesn't have the sort of brushes/style I need- I like to go for a vaguely painty quality to my art, not so much 'comic book' or cel shading or whatnot might have to just give up :v
Might give Autodesk Sketch a try? It went free recently but it definitely has more of a painty feel with its brushes.
why the Fuck did I decide to play with a new painting style AND multiple light sources on the same fuckign project
TFW you realize that one kinda cool thing in your setting probably can't be used without coming across as trying to make a heavy-handed and pretty stupid point you don't actually agree with. (Context: I was thinking of magic use being tied to the brain or equivalent organ's pattern-matching abilities, which would have some interesting implications regarding things (like psychosis or antipsychotics) that affect that one way or another. But if I explore that I'll just sound like Just Do Yoga Karen.)
I use Paint Tool Sai! It’s not free but I believe it’s SIGNIFICANTLY cheaper than Photoshop (under 200 iirc? Correct me if I’m at all wrong here, it may have changed), and tbh I like it wayyyy more than Photoshop as an art program. It’s super versatile re: brushes (and, like Photoshop, people make brushes for it that you can download and use!), and while my own art style is far from painterly I’m pretty sure it would work well for that too! Again, I don’t recall the exact price and am too lazy to look it up rn, but it’s a VERY good program and might fit your budget better!!
