Things that are currently annoying you

If Hiveswap Act 2 doesn't come out till all the Troll Call have their Friendsim entries, it's going to be after the 8th of December. I hate waiting, and if it turns out to be another short railroad plot I'm going to be annoyed.

 

And my kitchen drain is STILL FUCKING BLOCKED after the plumber came and swore he'd fixed it! Argh!

 

I’m feeling like you’d be totally justified in calling this a thing that is besieging you rather than merely annoying you. I’m really sorry, that’s awful.

 

And the maggots appear to be coming from under the linoleum so I'm going to have to rip it all up to get rid of them. And I've been too angry and too uncomfortably hot to sleep at all.

 

What's your living situation like? If you're renting, that sounds like you're firmly in "get the landlord to do most of the legwork" territory.

 

Council flat. They sent the plumber but I don't know if they can do pest control.

 

They say it doesn't count as an emergency because the sink is draining, even though it's bringing filthy water up all over my kitchen in the process, refused to believe me that it's making the washing machine back up too and so I can't wash my clothes in the middle of a sweaty heatwave during which I've had to do hard work cleaning up the mess, and also didn't believe me about the maggots. I got told to "go sit in the sunshine!" which I CAN'T do because I'm having to tear up the fucking lino to clear up the mess they refuse to help me with. The plumber can come again but it could be any time in the next five days and they refuse to get any more specific. Thank God my dad's coming over.

Maybe your dad could go the property management offices or call them in your place? Men getting listened to more when they complain, and all.

 

Yeah, I've asked him to. Currently he's doing something in the kitchen but discovered my sink is also leaking and has warped the chipboard in the cupboard under it. I told him to worry about that later and focus on getting rid of the disgusting bugs but I don't know if he is doing.

If you have spoons for it, take it to the local press, or at least threaten to - that usually gets things shifting.

 

I'm pretty certain what's happening is the blockage is on the outside end of the drain, not my side, because the plumber ran a snake down my sink's end of the pipes as far as it could go and found nothing. I TOLD him this before he started, because the last plumber when I had a similar but less severe problem told me that was likely it, but did he listen?

 

Okay, we think we got most of them. Hosed corners down with bug spray, went to parents' house for the afternoon, there were a couple on the floor when I got back but they were already dead, so that's at least better than it was. Dad's going to call landlord and complain for me tomorrow.
