I'm p sure Atish'an refuses to wear any prosthetic that's not just a weapon strapped to the remains of her left arm. Brejan probably doesn't for the same reason as helios bc she's an idiot nerd who made everything worse by pretending nothing was wrong and leaning even further on the anchor to do flashy shit

Asaaranda will absolutely have a prosthetic that's essentially animated by a wisp/baby spirit in the same basic way necromancy corpse reanimation works in DA which i think follows reasonably from the fact she immediately fell in love with Loyalty/The Bog Unicorn and Promise/the Oath-bound Steed. For all that she's terrified of her own magic and being without an Arvaarad, she will 100% become a fucking beast at working with spirits and laying out reasonable boundaries for her interactions with them and theirs with her while still rivaling spellbinders in her ability to wreak havoc upon a battlefield. Actually thinking about it, I may even say she ends up foregoing staffs entirely and using the prosthetic as a focus instead.

 

Atish'an "Da'Fen" "Suledin" Lavellan has no less than four magic blades on her body at all times and Solas should be very afraid.

And no i do not care that technically only the Blade of Tidarion and the Spirit Blade Hilt can be carried by mages bc DA RPG!Atish'an (Dirth'enfenim) is spec'd as an arcane warrior rather than a Knight Enchanter and Lavellan spent most of her time with the Inquisition uncovering every last elvhen artifact she could get her hands on, and finding out about the Emerald Knights, so if there's anyone who would have managed to reverse engineer the old arlathan traditions properly to use the spec as it appears in DA:O, it would be Atish'an Lavellan.

 

Asaaranda accidentally grooms the Wisp in her new arm into differentiating out into a spirit of Cooperation, offends and appals both dorian and vivienne when they ask her how long she planned on keeping this secret instead of publishing her research by going 'I didn't think anyone would care, this isn't anything special, it happens constantly.'

 

.... ironically I think this means she will actually really like Cole rather than being scared of him like most of my vashoth quizzies.
But she will also canonically never refer to him as Cole, always as Compassion, because she's got like a near savant level of being able to instinctually comprehend a spirit's nature within a few minutes of interaction. Cole is probably a bit unsettled, and will only grow more so once she becomes a necro.

 

Thinking about Asaaranda's childhood

Her (and Kata's) father was an Arvaarad, the mother a Taardathras. They deserted mostly for love and because the father felt he had failed when a Saarebas under his care got possessed and needed to be put down, he panicked and asked his lover to run away with him, which she did. They live in a tal-vashoth/vashoth community near the Anderfels/Nevarra/Orlais/tevinter border that is known for being kind of conservative. (Think similar to Heronfem's Adaar's hometown in Til Kingdom Come, so 'Little Qundalon') The two girls were born about a year apart, Kata being the slightly younger sister. Asaaranda got just about nothing of her mother's temperament and all of her father's quiet burning passion and awkwardness outside of rules and rituals. Once her (and Kata's) magic manifested the two were sent off to join Shokrakar's Valo-Kas as Shokrakar actually has a couple Saarebas and an Arvaarad in her service so it was the safest bet for them to learn and Dadvaarad was too busy freaking out to offer that he could teach them.
Asaaranda's dreams have always been unusually vibrant and malleable but as there's little knowledge of Somniari among the Qunari no one has the tools to notice that this is unusual until she joins the Inquisition, and there she spent too much time being scared out of her mind and lonely without her little sister.
While Shokrakar and her Arvaarad do not enforce masking and chaining their Saarebas, Asaaranda was offered the mask and closer scrutiny when she expressed distress at how easily spirits heed her call. She associates obscured sight with comfort and trust and before Bull notices this in Haven she spends all of her time fighting down unease and nervousness since people there expect her to make decisions, not her Arvaarad, can she please get an Arvaarad? Anyone? Please?
(Bull is pretty unsettled by this and he wants to help her badly but he could not ever be a good Arvaarad and he knows. He watches Asaaranda throw herself fruitlessly at Cass and Cullen with some bemusement, and probably indulges her flirting with him a good bit, but he is definitely glad once she mostly latches onto Blackwall as the target of her clumsy attempts at seducing warriors who could put her down if need be, even if he can smell a mile off that there's something weird about blackwall and he doesn't trust the guy.)
Once people realize that she needs a veil and/or mask to feel safe and she is given something similar to Dread as well as needle and thread to fix up her own clothes as needed she really starts opening up and becomes this eerie tall silent floating mage queen that is like 90% drama by volume without even so much as lifting a finger. She's still an awkward shy nerd, don't get me wrong, but she knows how to hide that mostly with clothes, makeup and just straight up being taller than anyone besides bull. One can usually find her hanging around the stables though, because Josephine put her foot down about the Inquisitor not being allowed to have two zombie horses in her chambers, no not even if they're very well behaved. It's not proper, Inquisitor. No you can't move into the stables instead either. She does a lot of embroidery and shyly watches Blackwall doing his wood carving and they mostly sit around near eachother in shy, slightly awkward silence.

Lads we have finally acquired one of the Acceptably Goth Vitaars for this girl shaped thunderstorm

She also just saw her future husband die in the bad end future so she kind of panicked and offered the mages a full alliance. As in 'I don't care what the game said she said, she absolutely very clipped and blankly went "We need your help. We accept whichever terms you propose. Please excuse me.' before running the fuck out of redcliffe castle to have a sobbing meltdown out of sight of The Literal Queen Of Ferelden.

 

I just realized I almost never wear pins but I do wear necklaces but there's a way to wear pins as a necklace. Choker. Pin Choker. that or you know putting them on hats but I haven't gotten round to buying blank snapbacks for this kinda stuff

Asaaranda may be my favorite quizzy so far just because she's so sweet and gentle and quiet off the battlefield once you realize she's not intimidating on purpose she's just tall and eerily quiet and doesn't show her face and doesn't actually realize her clothes are ridiculously Extra And Dramatic
But on the battlefield she is literally what she is named for, a Thunderstorm in a woman's skin and her staff is at this point mostly a formality. She has probably picked a Venatori up off the ground by his throat and electrocuted him with her bare hand for stabbing Bull or Thom or Sera. And then probably licked the blood/sud off her fingers delicately trying not to smear her vitaar too much. She holds funeral rites after every big battle to the point where she rides back out if she was dragged back to camp, because no one is a bad enough person to deserve being left with unrest, but that doesn't mean she doesn't tear people apart if given sufficient motivation.
Fear is a sufficient motivation which is why they do not affect her much despite her being afraid all the damn time. She is however easily bullied into giving up, into compliance, into letting others pull the strings, so a creative Sloth or an Envy that managed to slip past her sense for spirit identities could really fuck her up.

 

I have like literally no idea how a griddle even is supposed to be used but I am 100% tempted to buy a domed/mongolian one (apparently?) bc I saw streetfood folks make gözleme and flatbread on those and it looked stylish af and I really want to be the only bitch with fresh bread in the larp camp
