    STRONGLY DISAGREE

at least raisins are reasonably soft as one might expect a cinnamon bun to be
Pecans have no place in sticky buns FIGHT ME

(the difference between cinnamon buns and sticky buns is shape
If it's round it's cinnamon, if it's rectangle it's sticky
    Shhhhh)

Cashews are Acceptable Snack but only when warned for and on their own, perhaps with salt
Why is there such an obsession with putting nuts in baked goods
    Pastries Should Not Crunch

pecans are absolutely delicious. Edy's used to make a pecan pie flavored ice cream that was pretty much the best thing ive ever eaten

raisins immediately ruin any food they're applied to, unless you straight up cover them in chocolate, then they're acceptable. But otherwise raisins are the black sheep of the grape family that we don't talk about.

Those Indian curries that come with raisins are the best thing in the world fight me

I am the kid who chose oatmeal raisin cookies over other cookie types sometimes, and adding raisins to anything warm where they get nice and puffy and juicy is perfection

Also an excellent stand alone snack and by far the best part of trail mix

My teeth are pre emptively feeling the bad Gritty surprise raisin texture with all the raisin talk

I'll take a chance with them sometimes but there is always risk for horrible grit D:

Also apple cinnamon buns are great, they should be Soff and have the slight cronsch of cooked apple slices. We used to have a Saint Cinnamon in the mall and they were huge and probably terrible for my blood sugar :p

oh man i feel you with bad grit surprise, the thing with raisins is you've always got to have high quality ones, every time i've bought an off brand cheap bag of raisins it's been Grit Hell

in the states it's sun-maid or bust. haven't found what good raisins are in the uk yet cause closest shop is an aldis

I love the stuff but am too lazy to make it even tho I make all my own buttercreams and royals when i bake. whiiiiich i'm actually doing today. traditional chocolate chip and double chocolate mint chip. bc we don't have powdered sugar as much as i want to make soft sugar cookies ala lofthouse style
need to make a carrot cake loaf again and make proper cc icing for it. wanted to learn to make one from scratch.

I have a fondness for glacé icing, flavoured or unflavoured, because it's so damn simple and quick and also nostalgia for childhood, making little Victoria sponge buns and decorating them with glacé icing and a half glacé cherry or maybe a lemon jelly slice if you were lucky.
