Wait a minute WAAAAAIT A MINUTE

Minimum Ambus has a fox alt mode, at the level of his irreducible self.

He's also the most stiffly honest, upright, intergalactic policeman you ever did see. Right? WELL.

Remember, back in the functionist universe?

I like how it turns out that Adaptus was the one to betray the rest of the Guiding Hand and not Mortilus.
I also like how we get an explanation for how Rung hasn't changed bodies in forever.

Also also I like the callback to the 1984 Transformers Movie, only instead of using the Matrix to defeat Unicron they're using Twelve Matrices (one for each of the Functionist Council?) to defeat Cybertron.

HEY COLDSTARS (not tagging in case you're avoiding spoilers) YOUR MEMORY FIC IS PRETTY GR8 RIGHT NOW i mean apart from the question of ultimate identity, where obviously they differ, I think you REALLY captured the feeling of someone unimaginably old and what happens to their memory in a way the comic doesn't have time to linger over. Oh man, that is nice.

Also, generally speaking, I'm less upset by this than I thought I'd be??? It's got that JRO feel to it, where lots of little insignificant moments that seemed not to be obviously dangling threads were actually leading up to this thing. The serial number, the remarks about 'haha yeah i guess you've never been my doctor', the surviving getting shot in the head, this is EXCELLENT. Even him being chronically forgettable!! The pacing is still rushed, but I really do like the overall picture.

(plus i am LIVING for whirl's whole reaction of HAHAHA GUYS I STRANGLED GOD)

And that makes me wonder what's the deal with functionist universe Rung. Huh. If this Rung is super bad at dying, the other one seemed to go down way too easy. I'm kind of doubting it will show up in LL, but I think that's wide open story potential right there.

ALSO! A nice aside from Rodimus about 'four million years of war DO WE LOOK MORE ADVANCED TO YOU', it goes real well with the Scavengers issue from a while back where 'our tech isn't ADVANCED tech anymore, it's just tech' and how they've been so busy trying to kill each other that nobody can move forward

And hmmm. I'm still pretty uninterested in the whole thing with the ~infinites~, but it fits a little better in terms of Adaptus's interest in advancing the Cybertronian race and the self-healing he saw in Rung/Primus. I feel a lot less irritated at that plot point now. I still don't care, really, but I'm not actively annoyed XD

oh my god lmao you put two primes together in a room for five minutes and they immediately start trying to kill each other, CLASSIC

    ADSFDSASDFS BELOVED RATCHET!!!!!!!!!

    OH MY GOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

PHARMA MY HORRIBLE CHILD MY DARLING I LOVE YOU

holy shit how am i supposed to process anything else now BELOVED RATCHET!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

oh man, i wasn't just self-indulgent with the wink wink dynamics in that ratchet+pharmadaptus fic, I didn't take it far enough

god, i'm still absorbing. also this is a super interesting angle on tyrest and his issues that makes me much more invested in his character in general

    oh mannnnnnn

    beloved

'who's this friend of yours' adfds ultra magnus <3

Oh my god, Whirl. 'Primal Power(tm), with two capital P's'

I won't even lie, I'd kill for some good Whirl+Rung content right now, because Whirl is a superpro at dealing with heavy-ass shit and still coming through it with jokes and good humor. Rung has always fallen more on the melancholy side of the equation, and he was Whirl's therapist for ages, and Whirl has helped him before, like with Fort Max, but I'd love to see Whirl trying to be emotionally supportive, in a very Whirl way.

    holy shit, froid XD

    the blackrom is REAL

'ur a god? whatever, u still suck'

Oh mannnn, rossum's trinity. Bringing in old robot-y references. Lov it. Also!! RODIMUS, RATCHET, AND TAILGATE!!! I haven't read on yet, so I don't know what this morality lock business is, but I am LOVING this combo attack. Oh my god. I'd been kind of like... exhausted by the speed of events and pacing and revelation after revelation, but I'm kind of super getting invested again.

    ADSASFDDFSA CYCLONUS
cyclonus: 'nobody's putting tailgate in danger'
    ratchet: 'thanks for the support'
    rodimus: 'appreciated'

    I'M DYING

    misfire and thunderclash OuO

The quote-unquote ultimate autobot, and what Tarn called one of the absolute worst decepticons. This is almost as intriguing a team-up as grimlock and misfire.

AAAAAA RODIMUS! MY BOY!!!!!! 'i just think we're at our best when we're together' I'M NOT CRYING YOU'RE CRYING

    'overload vector sigma' huh >u>

    the ultimate micro/macro

'i once interfaced with vector sigma' I CAN'T TAKE THIS ANYMORE, JRO, YOU KNOW EXACTLY WHAT YOU'RE DOING XD

oh, holy shit, didn't see that coming. i hope froid's okay, i need him to keep antagonizing primus

'what we call their corpse, you call the warren' ohhh man, is this quintesson bullshit? because i'm way more invested than i've ever been in canon quintessons

Oh wow. I'm still kind of reeling. I'd been lulled into a false sense of complacency by the rushed pacing with Getaway. But if that closure had to be rushed to give this one a little more room to breathe, I can deal with it. I still wish JRO had more issues to take his time with, but man. Wow. I'm kind of delighted with that whole thing.

    BELOVED RATCHET!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah, I really wish JRo had more room to work with because you can definitely see the crumpled pieces of a really cool story here.

I mean, I'm still enjoying the story, it's just a story that sits better in my memory than in the actual reading experience, which is the opposite of how MTMTE was for me. I'll always regret that LL got rushed so hard, but I'm impressed that JRO is able to work as much story into it as he's done so far, and salvage as many good moments as he can from what could have easily been complete story sludge.

A couple hundred years? Didn't you guys have a war that lasted 10,000 times as long? I'm not sure I can really believe that Stardrive's prowess could possibly derive from a couple hundred years. Prowl, you used to be able to do math.
I can believe the controlled-Wraithing thing might be a bit of a boost, though.

She was Wraithed about 200 years ago and before then had been raised with organics and was considered a young woman by Aloran standards, so she'd have been in her 20s. She's probably not even 300 years old.

The Wraithing is a huge boost tho, not just to her power and flexibility but because nobody fucking expects it or knows how to deal with it. She's running on a combination of Cybertronian (Camien) technology and Wraith biomagic. Furthermore, she wasn't expected to grow up on the timescale her species normally expects people to develop on, she had an actual childhood but by Aloran standards she's been alive a long time and has had a long time to learn.

I do have some doubt that she's actually the best fighter Prowl's seen, but it's not impossible because the vast majority of fighters Prowl's seen have been Cybertronian and using Cybertronian fighting methods and mindsets, whereas she's got a lot of other shit going on. And she does seem to be matching Arcee in how she's dealing with Shockwave's army, and even surpassing Arcee due to supernatural levels of flexibility and range for a Cybertronian.
