Spoiler: LL 24 Apparently it's an unpopular ship, though? I kinda get it - Brainstorm/Perceptor is big, and Brainstorm's love for Quark drives a lot of his very bad decisions, but it seems dumb to sideline his chemistry with Nautica, especially since the thing Perceptor, Quark, and Nautica have in common is they're all amazingly smart, but Nautica is the one who actually appreciates Brainstorm back. I hope it's not just because she's a woman, because Brainstorm and Nautica getting together or being attracted to each other wouldn't negate Brainstorm's same-sex attraction at all. I mean, from an out-of-universe point of view I get it, representation means a lot, but from an in-universe point of view Cybertronians specifically seem to view attraction and gender as not linked because of their long history of living as a seemingly monogender society. And from a representation point of view, Brainstorm is still queer representation if he's played as bi or pan. A bi or pan person in a relationship with someone of the opposite sex is still bi or pan.
Spoiler: LL24 Yeah we are not exactly hurting for same gender romance in this comic. I can’t even begin to describe how few shits I give about the ship’s popularity. I think it’s fantastic.
I know there was a specific longfic recced here and I'm trying to find it again - it involved, I think, the TFA continuity, Optimus Prime/Megatron fighting against the corrupt cybertronian government in a slow burn romance?
Also I've started watching Cyberverse and it looks good so far. The Seeker designs are very pretty! And there's more lady characters!
So. Nautica says a Camien has 10 mega-cycles to find an Amica, or face social consequences. Fine. Except Simon Furman apparently defined the length of time a mega-cycle is in the IDW G1 comics continuity on a forums post, and... it's 93 hours. Rough estimate, that's, what, 40 days to find a bff? Just after you've popped out of the ground? No fucking wonder Nautica and Firestar panicked and hooked up.
I just wonder if the person who wrote that line had that definition in mind or not, because I always figured 10 megacycles had to be a few years at least.
