You know I appreciate how much Hasbro has been shoving Windstorm into new continuities since she got made. It's definitely marketing but it's also fun. You can see the different ways the basic character writeup gets interpreted, too - when people voted for the fanmade character to be telepathic, the idw g1 continuity that introduced her had her as a cityspeaker instead and introducing the concept, but in cyberverse, she says she's a cityspeaker and when bumblebee is confused go 'i can do telepathy things', which is like... interesting, i guess? Because the cityspeaker concept is so reliant on Titans being a huge part of things, if Windblade is from Cybertron and not Caminus things are going to be way different, so just making her really good at mental exploration and 'telepathy' makes sense for Cyberverse, but then they still call her a cityspeaker!
A couple things. Spoiler: LL24, lorge images In retrospect. Well, we know who the Shimmer and the Necrobot are. They're both real. And now knowing where the Matrix comes from, it seems completely unsurprising that a cold constructed mech would be more likely to do something like, you know, have a vision of Primus? And the other, unrelated thing, from MTMTE 31, right after Drift purchased the ship and they (Pipes, Drift, Riptide) were naming it: I was like, wait a durn moment, that reminds me of something a little? They're not the same things at all. The first message is festival lanterns, I think. But they sure do get messages from lights in the sky, don't they. @Hawkeguy reminded me that at the festival, "The Hymn for the Disappeared" was playing.

Hey hey guys guess what On the note of "beloved ratchet" And with the optional flavor about what Alex Milne said about how if they had been a former couple, he headcanons it as ratchet being... not a good boyfriend Pharma has been nursing those emotions for millions of years, but the last time he saw Ratchet was when Ratchet just bailed without so much as a goodbye, in the middle of a conversation, while Pharma was trying to ask Ratchet's advice This is just so wonderful painful. I need fic about that immediate aftermath. I probably need to write fic about that immediate aftermath, because I don't know what I'm even looking for, but I'm already feeling very picky about it :PPP And it's all so great, because nothing justifies the extremes that Pharma went to, but he got put in such a deliciously miserable position before he compromised his values/morals/etc, and it's so amazingly painful to think about the whole situation
Spoiler: LL 2...1? Okay I know the functionalist council terraforming Cybertron into a giant fighting mecha they named Primus and then used to punch other planets into oblivion, while Cybertron is still actually occupied and everyone else is being pulled along for the ride, terrified, is a bad thing, and a horrific war crime of an unforseen scale. But. Can we all agree that it's also at least a bit totally rad?
Spoiler Yeah, if the Council weren't using it for evil and the population actually volunteered to come along, this would be super cool: the world turns into a giant robot, because of course the world turns into a giant robot.
Spoiler Well, yeah. Everything in the exRiD/OP line is Shockwave's fault, and everything in MTMTE/LL is Brainstorm's fault. Two bullets could have stopped the entirety of IDW's Phase 2.

Apparently if TAAO didn't get cancelled so early there was going to be an arc where Onslaught and Blast-off's relationship had time to build and get really genuinely good for Onslaught before the twist was revealed to him and the rest of the combaticons debated what Onslaught should do. We were robbed. :(
I'm so incredibly sad we didn't get to see that, but at the same time I'm also glad we didn't get, like, an issue about the maccadam's crew trying to protect the bar during the zombie titan invasion, or metroplex getting a holoavatar and wandering around the city fitting in Just Like A Normal Person. And I'm not a huge fan of 'yeah, swindle's just an asshole' after taao was the place to drag in something that felt a little more nuanced for him :/ I'm so torn about the mscott plans she didn't get to write, because some of them sound amazing and all my fannish dreams come true, but some of them I'm just in pain over how they sound like they'd deliberately torpedo the atmosphere I would have sworn she was deliberately trying to build.
In my reread of MTMTE and Spoiler: MTMTE 39 For all his speech about how any religion is anathema to decepticon ideals Tarn sure does literally worship Megatron. Like haha, my man, that is a fucking prayer! Megatron can't hear you! EDIT: Spoiler Also jesus christ his little power play with Skids absolutely was about the mean comment Skids made when they were on the heist. The moment Skids is snapping at him is one of the moments highlighted the most as Tarn is committing suicide by nuke. What the hell, Tarn? Were you in love with Skids or something? And why take it out on him like 3 million years later - oh, right, because you're Tarn and you never let anything go ever.
Spoiler: MTMTE 39, later spoilers re: Tarn's identity Look how prominent Skids is. And I'm fairly sure that's Skids during the heist, not Skids as Tarn is tormenting him later. Either way, it's interesting that he takes up more space then Megatron, the dude Tarn literally worshipped. He had some massive unrequited thing, didn't he?
