  6. I posted this on my art Tumblr asking for critique but no one responded. :x Could I get one? It's just a quick sketch but I'm not really sure how to make it more finished, digital is pretty new for me.

Okay, so, her head still looks slightly too big. It might also be the fault of her shoulders not being broad enough, and in this perspective her waist should be a lot thinnier than her shoulders. I'm also not sure what's going on with her arms, is she raising them?
Augh, I don't know if what I said makes sense, but I can draw over to show you what I mean (if you want)?
PS. Love that sorrowful look on her face. What a cute.

  8. @mrozna Yes please draw over it! I'm not really sure what's going on with her arms either (it's a warmup doodle) but that seems the most logical explanation.

@autopsyblue the nose doesnt seem to fit the perspective of the rest of the face! her face seems more or less head-on, whereas her nose seems more like something you'd see in a 3/4 view :O and i agree with what mrozna said, the shoulders seem a little thin and so do the arms to me, tho thin arms can often be a stylistic thing. . . are you shooting for a slightly-above type of perspective? i could do a redline type thing too, if you want, tho mrozna may have that covered :p
LOVE the way you did the wings tho, super fluid, very water-like :D and i love the way you draw eyes!! very expressive n pretty

  11. @rats Yes that's the perspective I was going for.

That's how I imagine her body would look like in that perspective :O I also changed the position of her arms, if you don't mind.

  15. @mrozna I think you made her a little curvier and brawnier than she actually is. Lapis actually looks pretty delicate, like a typical ballerina (except not as tall I think).

The shoulders look too big to me and the arms.. I appreciate you trying to do perspective for me but the arms are kind of throwing me off. They are supposed to be raised. I tried the thing you did to show what I see.

Which still feels kinda flat to me, maybe she should be rounder around the waist.

You and @rats are right about the nose though, there should be a lot more of her right nostril visible.

Ty for the compliments though, they're much appreciated.

Looking at what @mroza did, I do think the shoulders would look that broad in the perspective. Especially cuz this is not drawn in SU style, they gave her more realistic proportions. The arms in the position @autopsyblue keeps trying to draw them in is throwing me off because they just look super long and not part of the perspective of the piece.

Rounder waidt would help a lot, the way you've got her drawn there is a bit flat. Also its fun to tug a bit past canon proportions, because the style is very limited in what it portrays. She can be slight and still have curve to her waist and hips.

Idk, throwing two cents at it. /still learning how peoples work in drawings

  17. Hrm. I still think their drawing is a little too wide. Maybe mine is too small, but I think their drawing took it a little too far in the opposite direction. Idk maybe the angle is a bit off in theirs? I definitely was thinking of the legs/thighs as a lot more foreshortened than they are in that sketch, which maybe means I did a worse job perspective-wise on the drawing than you all were thinking. Also I'm not quite sure what you're saying about the arms @Void, is it that you can't tell how the arms relate to the rest of the drawing spatially or you think they should be in a different position? The elbows are slightly off and the hands should actually start at the bottom of the page, but it's a quick doodle so I left out some information.

I tend to ramble bout figure drawing sorry.

Its more like the arms just are too long looking when they're in that position and it doesn't seem to fit the framing you have going on. A different position would probably work better.
