Man, that's way better than when I tried to put hot chocolate mix in the fridge and milk in the cabinet yesterday.
Yesterday I had a spoonful of peanut butter with milk, and afterwards I went to put the spoon and cup in the dishwasher. Only I put them in the trash instead.
Step one: fill pan with water for soaking Step two: turn off water so the water bill doesn't murder me Step three: turn off kitchen light and leave Brain: Okay those are both 'turn off' steps, they can be consolidated right >Turn off kitchen light Brain: .........I turned it off, why is the water still going
the thrilling sequel: >I need breakfast >the cat needs breakfast >bring cup of wet food with me to the kitchen >ah, yes, cat food, my favorite meal, this is clearly what I'm supposed to be eating
Poured coffee, set it on the counter between the stove and fridge (and under the cabinet with the sugar bowl), added milk and cream because why just one? Needed a spoon for the sugar. Turned around and was momentarily flummoxed that dad was in the way of the pantry. Then even more flummoxed about why I thought I needed to go to the pantry for a spoon. Realized I was probably trying to go for the vegetable oil. My sleep schedule is completely off right now so I just woke up. Usually if I just woke up and I’m standing by the stove, having just gotten something from the fridge, it’s because I’m cooking my breakfast egg. I’ve turned on the range and need to get the oil while the skillet heats up before I crack the egg. I had tuna salad for breakfast though because my mom made some for dinner and the leftovers had just gone in the fridge. My coffee doesn’t need any vegetable oil, but I guess my brain feels thwarted.
I was looking for my phone once while holding my phone. At one point I had to switch hands so my dominant hand would be free to move things out of the way. It took a few minutes after that.
The two best things I've done so far. 1. Just last week or so, was drying a pan with paper towel after washing. Apparently the pans in my house are stored in the trash. 2. Spoiler: Bodily Harm but like ACCIDENTAL Steak finishing in oven, timer goes beep, collect 1 oven mitt on non-dominant hand, open oven with non-dominant hand, grab cast iron pan out from oven with ungloved hand, did not realize until I had no choice but to finish and put it on the stove top.
Was going to make mac and cheese and tea. Got out a bowl and a mug. Started water boiling for the tea. Realized we were out of milk and thus mac and cheese was not happening, put the mug back in the cabinet, and dropped a tea bag in the bowl. Only registered I had done this after walking away and coming back a minute or two later when the water was boiling.
My sister came up to me, holding something in her hand. My other sister had been making cookies earlier. It was small, dark, and round. I opened my mouth and reached my hand out to take it, because small/dark/round item + other sister was making cookies = obviously this was a cookie??? i regret to inform everyone that it was not ETA: apparently I fucked up and forgot to include what the small, dark, round thing was. It was a snail.
few days ago, was drying washed potatoes with paper towels and almost threw a potato in the bin instead of the paper towel
Just watched my dear partner attempt to unpause the telly with a Jammy Dodger. (The jammy bit was the button.)
Happened a few days ago, but learned that pressing the unlock button on my car fob will not actually let me past the deadbolt into the house...
Timer for morning tea to finish brewing ran out. Got up, removed tea bags from teapot and threw them away. Grabbed teacup out of cabinet, dumped a spoonful of sugar in, sat back down. Only realized a minute or two later that I'd missed kind of an important step.
Went to make coffee this morning and sat the cup on the sink while I got it ready and turned it on. I realized when I came back to an empty cup and a counter covered in coffee that I forgot to put the cup under the spout.
Step 1. Attain water for medicine Step 2. Put water down to remove 1 pill from bottle Step 3. Put pill in mouth Step 4. Drink water pills because water is still on the counter and you are still holding the pill bottle
