Like "I said something really fucked up and homophobic in the past" is a very different statement from "I said something fucked up and homophobic in the past but to be fair he was really annoying and promiscuous"

If people would just back off a bit when I try to say I'm upset... I'm pretty sure I asked for a fokking safeword even though I shouldn't need one. (Dammit, I just head-clutched hard enough to pull something near my collarbone.) None of this BS where if I don't hide my feelings I'm committing some sort of emotional hostage situation.

I look over my posts. The only thing I can do is leave it for a couple of months in hopes that I forget what I was thinking about enough to see it like someone outside of my head would see it. Or I can ask for people to cut me some slack and ask for clarification.

Even now, people are rejecting what I actually meant with 90's homophobia causing gays to not be in the best of mental health and substituting that I meant the 50's retoric of it being a mental disease.

 

What is the past-tense of hoped? I'm sorry that I accidentally used the present-tense.

 

That is not actually a thing that is happening in this thread. People are explicitly acknowledging that it was not necessarily intended to mirror 50's era homophobia, it was just easy enough to interpret that way to be hurtful and homophobic.

 

“Joy of joys he didn’t die” reads as extremely sarcastic to me. Reading it as sarcasm leaves me with the impression that you are not happy he is alive because you still currently would prefer him to be dead. Is this not the case? Are you genuinely happy that an old wish was not fulfilled?

 

And the mods did not like that answer.

I don't understand which answer in the multiple choice lines up with what I believe. One of them looks like you accidentally missed a word.

A: I am happy because he still lives
B: I am unhappy because he still lives​

You can respond to this post with either the letter A or B. If you feel it needs a more in depth explanation that can take place in a desperate post.
