there's actually an ori rando tourney on, i think it's just finishing up? standard logic, clues keymode for singles shards keymode for doubles
they sequence break a lot, like, instead of digging for the intended logical progression they might charge jump off many spikes or swim in poison water or in one hilarious instance airswim

http://speedgaming.org/ori/ has the list of matches and what speedgaming channel the vods are on! i don't know how to search within a channel though so you'll probably have to dig past vods from other tourneys

there's also the early vods on speedgaming's youtube

ETA: there are ori randomizer collections in speedgaming 1-5 but they are out of date because the speedgaming guys are behind on highlighting

further edit: playlist! out of date for the same reason as the collections, but has stuff from speedgaming 1 through 5 (they are never on speedgaming 6) https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLdoWICJMgPKXEVN22tuoKMJC20CCL5rgw

Making my way slowly through Assassin's Creed Odyssey, which is the first Assassin's Creed game I'm playing on my own (and not just watching my fiance play) and it is so much fun y'all. I'm just lost in exploring this great big open Greek world and chasing down these cult members. And Kassandra is the best (though I'm playing as Alexios in my playthrough)

I'm also watching my fiance play Red Dead Redemption 2, and the praise is definitely well-earned.

I started playing zelda spirit tracks today

pretty much everything from PH is immediately improved on: sound, graphics, engagement, difficulty...the beginning itself is pretty slow, though (too many cutscenes!), and I think zelda is even more hand-holdy than ciela was. ugh. zelda makes up for that for being a much more fun character, though (lmao @ 'it's a family tradition for princesses to wait behind')...I have to wonder if her involvement in the plot of ST was in part a response to her near-complete absence from PH

spirit flute still sucks though, even if it's better integrated than the phantom hourglass. ugh. why are the mechanics so finicky

Husband is playing RDR2 and I watch and make helpful comments, 90% of which so far have been "that's not your horse". My husband sees a vaguely horse-shaped creature and assumes it's for him to travel upon the back of. I'm like... That's a gray Belgian draft horse, your horse is a chestnut thoroughbred, how did you not realize that.

My review: pretty good but you can't pat the cats, 4/5

Does anyone here play dead by daylight. I am sorely tempted to purchase it.

Been just diving into Hollow Knight and Yakuza 0 the last couple of weeks. Both are pretty excellent games, I'm especially surprised by how much I'm liking Yakuza 0. Got it as a recommendation and present for my birthday on Steam and started just because I trust the friend's taste who sent me it, and it's... it's so dang fun.

Also, more people should play Heat Signature, and then add me on Steam so our characters can find each other and/or our gear as we go around hijacking spaceships and space stations with little more than our cunning wits, hacker tech, and heavy munitions (choose two).

Finished Delta Rune today (Deltarune? I'm not sure if there's a space or not), and WOW. Toby Fox has outdone himself again. I love Susie and Ralsei with all my heart. I kinda want to do another playthrough but if the pacifist run ends Like That, I'm not sure I'd have the heart to do a no mercy run (especially considering I had the ending of that route kinda spoiled). Also the song at the end, holy shit songs in video games with lyrics always get me!

I also started Finding Paradise, which I'm not far enough into to have many thoughts on, but I have high hopes for it since it's the sequel to To The Moon.

Deltarune (like everyone else, and today backseat gamed Ivy's playthrough), and Minecraft. I finally have worldedit (will get voxel sniper soon probably), and my dream of a huge spiraling structure are coming true. 3 million blocks at once may be too much to generate for vanilla, but worldedit handles it like a champ with a lag of 5 seconds during generation.

Wondering when this dumbass husband will learn the trees in RDR2 are permanent objects and his horse won't clip through them.

Edit: while watching him drive off cliffs and down steep slopes in GTA is amusing, watching him do it on a horse is viscerally upsetting.

I stopped being a wuss and finished Detention
I'm really pleased with the twist it took past chapter 2 focusing more on the story and symbolic puzzles. that's just because imo these parts turned out particularly exciting. honestly I can't say ANY of the chapters was weak, they all evoke a specific unique kind of feel.

the ending is incredibly fulfilling. idk what kind of comfort people find in "%spiritname can finally move on to the afterlife". but seeing the world move on is different: the haunted scene of tragedy is long abandoned and nonthreatening in the rays of morning sun, the period of martial law has ended, and although the consequences of your actions will linger forever you too can rest. that was just great and considering my own circumstances (turbulent situation at home, living alongside political repression, uncertainty about the future) I kinda needed that.

"I don't want to be forgiven / I just want to be myself" in the trailer eventually makes like perfect sense and it's such a cool red thread connecting all the characters and narratives in the game. I love that shit.

Husband: "I want to rob the gun shop."
    Me: "That's a bad idea because --"
Husband: * sticks up gun shop, is shocked when owner pulls a gun on him, ultimately gets killed *
    Me: "Because of that."

ETA he owns a gun store. he's gonna pull a gun on you if you try to rob him. like.... yeah!

Started playing Kingdom: New Lands yesterday afternoon and have already logged 13 hours, and it would be more like 20 if I didn’t have work today. I stg this game is as addictive as Stardew Valley. I still haven’t made it past the third island though - lost my last world to bad luck when I accidentally pressed the wrong key to gallop and a monster grabbed the crown. Doing pretty good on my current run though!

this is not news to anyone who’s looked at the zero escape thread recently, but i’ve been playing the zero escape games and basically nothing else (am worried that if i start playing something else my low attention span will kick in and i’ll forget to come back to zero escape)

i would def recommend the series for anyone who likes escape rooms and/or murder games
