Is it weird to write a fic with the same premise but in a different fandom? I want to write some Waywardstuck, but I've already written a Hetalia crossover with it, and I feel like I'm being redundant by doing that.

 

If it was, the Coffee Shop AU tag on AO3 would be a lot smaller.

My landlord recently installed a new air conditioner in my flat to deal with the damp problem. It's working on that fine, but I haven't slept all weekend because the damn thing's making a noise like a leaf-blower. I realise it can't be expected to be perfectly silent but it's setting off my misophonia and they specifically installed one which cannot be turned off. (I'm thinking of this.) I've complained and asked them to come round and install some insulation or something, but that doesn't help me in the meantime. Any advice?

 

Earplugs? Or what works for me is listening to something familiar before bed to drown out the other noises. Something that I know very well, because otherwise it's just distracting

I know this is extremely last-minute, but...does anyone have any ideas for things I could do for Christmas Day?

Like...activities appropriate for the celebration of Christmas.

I'm gonna be home alone for most of it, so it can't be anything that requires other people, but...I think I'll feel kinda guilty if I let the day pass while just loafing around and reading manga like usual. So like, are there good movies out there I should watch? Games I should play? Fic I should read? Maybe I could even leave the house to do something? I just want some ideas.

 

I hear it can be a non-christian communities tradition to go out for chinese food on christmas, could be fun to get carry out? as a way to get out of the house, enjoy observing others' merriment, if that's the type of thing that would lift rather than dampen your mood.

If you want Christmas movie Christmas movies my faves are white Christmas and muppet a Christmas carol. Former I think is on Netflix.

Could also see if there’s any sort of like, holiday light show jam in your area you could go to. Whether it’s just neighborhood peeps doing their own fancy lighting or an actual official display someplace.

Game Grumps plays a lot of seasonal games for winter, so even if you aren’t into watching let’s plays that might give you ideas for stuff to play (tho idk how many of the Christmasy games they play are... actually any good....)

 

Might be a little late for this, but the last time I was alone on Christmas I went out and got some nice cheese and had a little fancy cheese dinner for myself while watching... I don’t remember, maybe anime :P I still do that whenever I’m alone on a holiday. It’s a nice ritual kind of thing.

Also sometimes churches or community centers hold community Christmas dinners? You could check if there’s something like that in your area!

I just unearthed a whole bunch of daily disposable contact lenses hat I got years ago when I thought there might be a chance in hell that I would actually use them. They expired in May, if I’m reading the packaging right. Does anyone know if expiration date on contacts is something to be taken seriously? I’d like to donate or give them away, but idk if that’s a good idea.

As a person who has made many bad contact lens decisions (do as I say, not as I do), really old contacts are more likely to get itchy or bent. I never did permanent damage, which might just be luck, but I certainly caused myself a certain amount of discomfort.

I had originally given up on my Kindle porn writing scheme, but I checked the account today and found I'd made fourteen dollars over a year from the three shorts I'd posted. I don't know if it's worth knocking out another couple. I'm not going to be able to hammer out one a day as the prolific writers do, but it might be a little bit. Most of the genre is still out of my comfort zone but I have one or two ideas. Is it worth it to try?
