thank fuck for the flu vaccine

like, i got my flu shot in october and like...it doesn't fully protect you against getting the flu but it does a helluva lot to prevent the really serious shit that hospitalizes (or even kills) people, and to generally make flus less severe

and this is VERY good news right now because i definitely have something that's at least flulike rn and it's bad enough as it is. why this.

 

(to clarify: when i say "bad enough" i mean "i am physically miserable." i'm not in any danger of like...dying or even having to go to the doctor. just. not havin' a good time of it. so don't worry, but like...if you're the praying type i would not object to prayers for a speedy recovery :P)

 

on the plus side!! new su TOMORROW and also xmas eve tomorrow!!

(hope i get to open up those boots but idk if that counts as a Big Gift To Be Saved For Christmas Morning :P)

 

explaining this. basically, i get to open one (1) present on xmas eve--this is because my parents are devout christians (episcopalians, specifically) and in christian tradition (and, iirc, some other religions) the day begins at sundown, so after sundown my parents allow me to exploit this lil religious loophole and open a prezzie.

HOWEVER

there are some presents i am not allowed to open until xmas proper! these are my Big Presents--like, the Main Event kinda present--and anything relating to those presents (for instance, if i got a tablet as my big prezzie and my parents also got me a case for it). i'm not sure if i'm getting a bigger gift than the docs (and tbh i'd be 100% satisfied with that as my Big Gift), so i may not be allowed to open them, but i can ask...
