erica luttrell aka sapphire from su is the NICEST PERSON ALIVE I S2G...she actually remembered me from last time and said she was so sorry that my ex (i’d gotten an autograph for her) had dumped me and that she was glad i was with someone new and better ;u;

also i thanked her for calming me from a meltdown last time

met kimberly brooks and i made her sign the dumbest thing ever for me but she told me she loved it and she clearly had fun signing it i love her

so i remembered something my abuser said ages ago and i’m still baffled by it bc it was THE DUMBEST THING EVER (which is why i’m posting about it here and not my vent)

she was kinda disappointed by an album by her then-fave band on a first listen and told me that she SHOULD love all their albums on the first listen and like...i am PRETTY FUCKIN SURE it does not always work that way?

this is, of course, an excuse to talk about tmbg.

when i like fun first came out, i thought it was...okay but not amazing. it took me several listens to FULLY appreciate it, but now?

now i’d argue that it’s among their best albums ever. like, top 5 at the VERY least, probably closer to top 3.

and this happens ALL THE TIME! sometimes it takes me a lot of listens for me to TRULY appreciate an album, even something by the best band ever to exist in the entire multiverse, and that is normal and my abuser was and is a fucking dumbass

(joke’s on her i’m usually NOT a fucking dumbass and i am usually not a complete megabitch and also i probably have better music taste than her so yeah suck my proverbial dick binch)

 

also my musical taste is fucking impeccable and the assholes on last.fm who mocked me as a teen for liking tmbg and weird al were Dumb And Wrong

I have only seen a couple of his videos. What are some of your favourites?

 

Oh man, I’ll have to look when I get home but for the time being, I HIGHLY recommend Foil, Everything You Know Is Wrong (it’s a style parody of TMBG! No official video but it’s on YouTube), and Amish Paradise!

(Also, clarification: I have nothing against people who don’t know his stuff super well, I just have Issues with the “he’s a comedic artist so he automatically sucks” mentality, which I saw a LOT on the Last.fm boards.)
