this took me three days, i'm cry. i need to draw more often, then maybe this will be less difficult next time.
I decided to mess around in GIMP waaaay too long and do a storyboard animation in honor of a poll rpg over on EpicMafia. Like... 7 hours way too long. And it's still scribbles and copy paste. ;_; Spoiler: 3 minute gif back here. Try to synchronize the gif with THIS SONG:
Spoiler: Quick line self portrait, then colored over with pastels to make a goddess of destruction. I am the most humble, it is me. I really need to learn how to blend these cheapie pastels, darker pictures just do not come out as I hope. The occasional specks of light would be fine for her, since the idea is purple/black skin with hints of stars, and black sclera with moon-like irises, and shimmering white hair with faint hints of color... but this is too many specks. >:(
do you have one of those little blending clothes for pastels? usually that's what i'd use to blend them
Oh gods... those rolled up paper triangle end things? Spoiler: These things? I probably have one somewhere with old charcoal supplies, but I hate hate hate using them, the sound/texture of them against paper is like chewing on styrofoam. Awful. :( I always cheated with charcoal by using ink washes to soften the charcoal edges instead. But thank you for the thought!
Those are good, but i also have this like.. section of cloth. i forget what it's called. but it's used for blending pastels. you stick it around your finger.
YES! that's it. you get the gold star for remembering the thing i can't seem to remember with any regularity. I have like two of these things, good for pastel smudging
awesome! yeah, it's this thing here. super soft and good for smudging things, no awful noises or vibrating textures up your fingers.
