  6. Okay, so, some info about Electric Six. They're an... interesting band, from Detroit, they make rock/techno/disco/kinda weird mashup music and don't take anything they do as a band seriously. Topics range from sexuality, to the literal devil, to sexuality again, to fast food restaurants. But the lead singer has a very distinct voice and the songs are just. Just listen.

and put a little mustard on it!

    Will listen ASAP!

Also, funny/adorable-according-to-my-girlfriend thing: during the last fifteen minutes or so of work last night, I took to very quietly singing TMBG songs to pass the time. (No passersby = nothing to do but stand there!) HOWEVER, occasionally—every couple minutes or so—someone would walk by, and I would IMMEDIATELY switch back to Customer Service Mode.

So I want y’all to imagine me v softly singing TMBG and then jumping out of the song for a second to shill the sale, and then jumping back into the song as soon as they walked off.

“you ampersand me, c’mon, dot dot dot dot—THIRTY TO SIXTY PERCENT OFF AT SUPER SILVER!—dot dot dot dot”

so i usually work nights, and i say “have a nice evening!” in my Work Voice a lot as a result

and yesterday my dad dropped me off at therapy and was like “seeya, love you” and i fucking responded “have a nice evening!”

    in my Work Voice

    to my own dad

    AT TWO IN THE AFTERNOON

  11. that happens to literally everyone, if it helps to know that. Even AT work I sometimes goof up my schtick, like I'll answer the phone and say "Hi, welcome to Business- wait. you're, not here."

It does help to know that, thanks! :)

...honestly I’ll prolly fuck up my spiel on Saturday, since I’m working 2-6 instead of my usual (so far) 6-10. :P

Everett local rats so small, so tiny

i can recite the stuff i have to say at work off the top of my head, which sometimes results in mashing the lines for 2 different-but-separate areas together

Like one goes "i'm (name), if you (blah blah) call (regional phone #) or email blah at blah dot blah" and the other goes "if you (slightly different blah blah) call (local #) (goodbye)"

It doesnt help that the work number starts similar to my personal cell #, so ive mashed THOSE together as well

Also sometimes the local radio station airs whole interviews in their news specials, which lets you witness the news persons non-news voice (sometimes very close to their news voice, sometimes its Woah Whomst)

Edit: my mom got so used to updating her work phone message every week/day thqt her home cell voicemail still starts "hello youve reached cellular voice messaging for (name) please leave your name and phone number and i will get back to you as soon as i can"

at least shes not like directing them to the after hours line lmao

pet peeve: men (and it’s ALWAYS men, and usually men who are too old to be flirting with a woman in her mid-twenties) who tell me i’m just dyeing my hair for attention, usually after i tell them to fuck off and stop hitting on me
