Supposedly he'll let everyone out if someone beats the game. Because that's how MMOs work. (One of the things I like so much about the abridged series is that it quietly and without fanfare fixes a lot of the "because that's how MMOs work", but there wasn't a lot it could do about that one but make fun of it since it's so much a part of the plot.)
I should probably warn you that if youre watching SAO, the women in the series have a terrible habit of turning into two-dimensional squeaky toys whose only two emotions are angst and love for the main character. Like, even my brother who thinks the only people who can say the N-word are PewDiePie, All Might and himself complained about this back when he watched the series.
(Also the second story arc features one of the most upsetting examples of both that thing above and Rape As Proof Of That One Dude Being Really That Evil I've seen in media, so, uh, be careful about that)
If you want a 'trapped in an mmo' anime that makes more sense and has a crapton more of worldbuilding, you might like Log Horizon.
You might also enjoy Recovery of an MMO Junkie, in which the protagonist quits the corporate job which makes her miserable, and tries to find a more satisfying life with the help of found family she interacts with in an MMO.
soooooo there's a problem with the deathflake mittens. which is they're supposed to be knit on size 0 needles and apparently pretty tight. i started them on size 1 needles, i knit pretty loose even when i'm not doing stranded colorwork, and i tend to loosen up even more when stranding so i don't make puckers. result: i get 3 inches in and i'm like this... is a hat
maybe you could felt them? fiber + water + aggitating = felt, and the finished bit is usually quite a bit smaller than the starting bit. dunno how the pattern would hold up, but its an idea!
yeah, i did some googling and while superwash wool does occasionally felt if washed/dried hot, it's not at all predictable, and once it does felt the felt-resistance is gone, meaning it will shrink/harden further if washed. not ideal for mittens that are going to get grubby. i don't feel like trying to knit tight and tiny, so i'm going to pick a different pattern. alas.
Headset has a kill switch that activates if tampered with. Dude says in the "have fun don't die" announcement that a bunch of families killed the players by trying to take the headsets off. Most people played with the headsets plugged in, rather than on battery. Like most people and laptops Dude was super anonymous and no one knew who he was even before the game came out. And of course he's a super hacker to have designed the game. Afatk, winning is the only possibility of getting out. There are some players who have your pov though and they just stay in the initial town and make a life themselves. The show gets very domestic at one point for a hot second lol
My moirail tells me that log horizon is AMAZING and hella world politics. ------ I've got a very fluffy rec! Hyouka ! It's about this guy whose motto is "don't do anything you don't have to" in an energy saving kinda way. Then he meets this adorable girl who is so curious and baffled by everything. He notices the little things, so she twists his arm into solving mysteries for her. It's just high school slice of life, so stakes never get high, though main girl treats everything as Super Serious And Important, so it drums up the stakes that way. I don't usually like slice of life that much, but it's cute and interesting so I had a lot of fun watching with the bf! I haven't seen slime, but you asked for fluff, so.
my hip has pretty much healed from its bullshit adventure to bullshit land, but patches of my left leg are still numb. looks like the nerve stayed pinched so long it died. so that's great.
