This will be the last I have to say on this topic here: I found the term I was looking for. It's hard fantasy. The term's a bit more fluid than just meaning this one thing we're talking about here though. It can also include things like magic and elves by certain takes, but if the supernatural is involved then everything has a neat and tidy plausible explanation. Kind of like how hard sci-fi works. There's some other definitions I'm finding for it, but the like idea that KingStarscream described is one of the things that gets the hard fantasy label.

 

Today I learned how falcon breeders can collect... um... materials. It's a hat. A hat that looks like a waffle.
