My sis made me wholegrain sourdough crackers w/cheddar cheese in and <3 it makes everything a little better

(also having good talks about how trauma intersects w/identity, & oppression olympics bs)

 

Oh my gosh those crackers sound DELICIOUS, do you (or they) happen to have a recipe?

 

I know what the base recipe was (it's our usual homemade crackers) - I don't know what proportions they changed for the cheese but I can ask! (probs won't hear back until later, they just left for work).

My sis says:
Replace the 2TB optional herbs w/2TB shredded sharp cheddar
Add a dash of black pepper & worchestershire sauce

I can say from observation that they also prefer "pricking" the crackers with a chopstick instead of a fork before baking - takes more pokes, but is more consistently effective at keeping the crackers from ballooning unevenly & gives a nicer look

So grocery shopping turned into more of an adventure than I wanted. I'm safe & home & wrapped up cozy, but :/

Sis and I head out in their car, Fisher. Getting in the car after the first store, noticed a bubble in Fisher's tire. Googled it, and holy fuck that's super not safe. Harrowing short very slow drive to the nearest Walmart auto center. Wind nearly stealing my shawl every time I'm out of the car. Find out that they're booked and they can't deal with it until tomorrow. Kai has to come rescue us & our groceries. Somewhere in there I pulled something hard in my wrist. Half the groceries still aren't done.

But Kai tucked me into blankets, got me pain meds & wrist brace, and is finishing the shopping for me <3

 

EVERYBODY LOVED THE PARTY

People got along & talked nonstop late into the night, they loved my food (minor mistakes and all) and I got requests for repeats & recipes, I got to smoke with my new smoke buddy...

And most importantly, Kai loved her birthday party!

I love Fiyero but he is the most problematic.

 

So today is the first time I tried out the new camera features in pokégo and -

I can have my service Bulbasaur and my buddy Oddish just, like, chilling in my room! I can take obsessive photos of my baby pokemon just like I can of my cats!!!
Also, there's a new pokestop just down the street from our apartment, so now I know how to motivate myself to take little walks with Kai after dinner :)

Today is the Alone Day, though, so I'm chilling inside, checking out Sims 4, and eating delicious party leftovers some more (pulled pork, amasu-zuke, and blackberry ginger ale)

 

(note to self: no making bad life choices abt girls. NO MAKING BAD LIFE CHOICES ABT GIRLS.)

(Kai, if you're reading this and going WTF, the tl;dr is that Jams looked really cute at your party and I am apparently still thinking about it two days later :/)

 

Blackberry ginger ale sounds divine, did you make it? And if not, where did you get it? (And if yes...got a recipe?)
