OKAY SO

hiatt is one of my best friends in the universe. we met on the homestar runner wiki forums when i was 12 and he was 13, and despite all sorts of shit (including his former friendship with, and feelings for, l**ra—he’s past her now of course) we have been friends ever since. he’s an immensely talented writer, and i honestly have told him—very sincerely—more than once that his short stories deserve to be published professionally, because they do. (i’ll post a link when i’m not on mobile, they’re all amazing!) he has been nothing but supportive of me and vice-versa, and even when we were teenagers and he had a huge crush on me he was never like...at all weird about it (tbh i didn’t even know until he’d gotten over me romantically and mentioned that he’d had feelings for me in the past)

the thing is, both of us are prone to good-natured snark in general, so obviously we rib each other constantly—tbh i’m fine with him going wayyy farther in terms of insulting me than i am with ANYONE else bc a. i know it’s jokes and he loves me too and b. it’s more fun to insult him back anyway—and send each other the most hideously cursed things we can find. to be fair, most of our insults are incredibly stupid, hence his name in my phone being an intentionally awkward attempt at an insult stolen from a starbomb song.

also he sends me bizarre and hilarious texts on a regular basis
