pls. someone. help. :C i went to plug my headphones in earlier and got my usual little Ding and went to select Headphones from the list and... got no audio. headphones certified to still function right. drivers all updated. windows update is not a thing i need to do. uninstalled and reinstalled. don't know what to do?? default device is listed as "speakers/headphones" whether headset is plugged in or not, and if i actually plug headphones in there is no sound from anywhere.

i've had this issue before and fixed it but god i can't remember how i did it and i feel like i'm gonna cry, i've been fielding this stupid thing for an hour now :C

 

Have you tried restarting your computer? Sometimes that works for me.

 

twice now, and two more times for the various reinstall attempts. :C

 

okay. speaker/headphone seems to be what it's Meant to say. so that's.. something at least.
i also briefly had issue where it wasn't registering i plugged something in, after i had to do a brief Restore Point to undo something I attempted fix-wise.
still no luck and its midnight now, augh this is very upsetting..

 

.....IDK WHAT THE FUCK CHANGED BUT THEY'RE WORKING NOW HOLY SHIT. the sound is distorted, but its at least SOUND
